GEEK Robot Creative Build | Swale & Medway

For GEEK Swale & Medway we set the challenge for a Minecraft Creative Build with the theme of Robots! With a big thanks to Ideas Test, the idea was brought around because of our GEEK Swale & Medway event in August 2014 where we developed the GEEK Robot Workshop. Margate Games

GEEK is a gaming festival held annually in February in the seaside town of Margate, UK. We were given funding by Arts Council England for 4 artist residencies and we challenged them to create a game inspired by Margate to test at GEEK2014. Our chosen artists came from across the UK and Europe; from Leeds to Brighton, Kent to Belgrade. The games produced were equally as diverse. Residencies took place in January and February 2014, All games were played at GEEK2014. GEEK is a festival of Play and Games. Between the 21st-23rd February 2014 it invited people to come and play in the Winter Gardens, Margate. The GEEK festival is a family event designed for all ages, genders and technical abilities. there were two halls of games to play as well as workshops, talks, presentations and demonstrations.
