Wukong is just so hungry for affection and I love that side of him. Really enjoyed making this drawing, I tried putting some details in it; Wukong is leaning towards Sanzang but we know he could never be this tired to be accidentally dropping his head over someone's shoulder. He's just pretending to be tired. Another thing is Sanzang's casaya is under Wukong's clothes which shows that he was sitting here initially and then Wukong came to sit next to him.

Another detail that is kinda unrelated is I tried extra hard to show how old, dusty and worn out Wukong's, who's full of pride and can never say no to dressing himself in the finest outfits and armors, outfit is meanwhile Sanzang's robes are shiny silks that spread across his body like water with no flaws. Sanzang is being tested to not to get greedy with his casaya and control his ego meanwhile Wukong is being tested to humble himself in this journey

Tbh I don't really understand the importance placed on shipping in the LMK fandom as a baseline, just because romance isn't really apart of the show thematically. The show's focus on parent/child relationships is largely apart of LMK's themes of cycles, instead of an unprecedented interest in these kinds of relationships. Even with the only (?) canon example of romance, Red Son's crush on Mei isn't purely motivated by undefinable romantic feelings, but rather because Mei inspired him to believe in himself when nobody else did so.
