What is a book has been a great subject that has really opened up my way of thinking. Before this class I hardly new what post-digital meant and had no understanding of the creative movement out there exploring this theme.
Mostly what this subject has taught me is to think very open, and to not over think. To just do sometimes and continue to explore. These briefs were originally difficult to get my head around, but with time I realised I was onto an idea that I wanted to pursue and I found this ideas interesting and something I would what to potentially continue to explore.
I liked my first prototype and the narrative of chaos and overloading elements and information. This ended up in someways carrying out in second book which looked again into computer narratives. It is interesting to look back at how each step of the process got me to this final point.
From this class I now have a go to project that I can pursue when I am in need of some design projects. Watching movies and quickly whipping up a book or a design that responds to the movie.
My only critiques I have for myself is the tiny details of my book. I think I has looked at it so much and experimented so much that I neglected going over the fine details of it all. There are little errors I am disappointed in. Although, considering a lot of this was designed while watching tv maybe means I was potentially distracted by these finer details. I also think these errors and minor mistakes may contribute to this post-digital book. For me the post-digital is about being able to make mistakes and have them automatically changed for you ( just liked as I type and make errors). So I think this book can break rules and rely on the computer to do what it does, because this post-digital world is about relying on our computer. So auto kerning, auto spell check, or missing words because you think it would have been automatically changed. Short cuts and making mistakes because of them.
To conclude this class was fun, free and opened me up to a new creative way to think.
