Demetri eyes the woman for a moment as she responds to his comment, a smirk playing on his lips as he nods. âMostly with my knees on the ground and a lot of alcohol in my system.â He winks at her, deciding to be as transparent with her as he could even though she was a complete stranger. But something about her is drawing him in and for a moment, he knows they would get along well â even if only within the confines of these walls after the sun has gone down. Besides, Demetri knows thatâs when everything fun happens, anyway.
âOh, you treat me well, woman.â The man quips, voice appreciative and thick as he watches his new friend go for the exact thing he has been craving. It isnât as though heâs particularly starving, but the party always got a little bit more exciting with the addition of the crimson liquid, in Demetriâs humble opinion. He licks his lips as she brings the small glass to him and, quickly, he raises it in cheers before he knocks it back with a gentle hum.
Though the grin never faltered, Gemma arched her left brow just slightly at his response. âSounds like a good time to me.â A century was a long time, which allowed for a lot of things to happen. Some decades passed by quicker than others, some were more enjoyable than others. It depended on the company, and the place. Gemma had to admit, she didnât hate tonightâs company.Â
âGemma,â she told him after he spoke. âItâs Gemma.â She figured after the small talk, it was only fair he knew her name. Besides, she liked to have people on her good side. Maybe that was just her manipulative side talking. It wasnât necessarily that she wanted people to like her, she just needed them not to hate her, in case they would ever be needed for something. Especially company like the male in front of her, one of her own species, could come to very good use. âYou donât even know the half of it,â she offered in return, that same grin still ghosting on her lips as the tone of her voice had dropped slightly, before bringing the small glass up to her lips and downing the red, thick liquid. âNot bad, hm?â
