The Goddess of Spring - 1934
Hey @theshadowsofevil - Do you know “The Goddess of Spring” from “Silly Symphony” cartoons?
I remembered that when I was a little girl, while growing up in Japan. To be honest, I didn’t know it was based on a Greek myth… until I realized it now.
This Greek myth was actually a “Persephone and Hades,” with a mixture of Bible and Myth elements.
I do know that short! Ever since the time when I first saw it on video a long time ago up to the time when I got Snow White on DVD, I did not know it was based on a Greek legend. It wasn’t until the book, “The Disney Villain” by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, that I learned that it was based on a Greek myth. It’s quite interesting, really.
