a good thing to do for your friends with anxiety disorders: if you have a question you need to ask them or something you need to tell them, explain the subject of the question/the statement in the same message as your opening one!
so basically: instead of saying âcan i ask you a question?â and sending just that (which, as a person with an anxiety disorder, makes my anxiety go into hyperdrive) go âcan i ask you a question about ___?â
itâs a little thing but honestly few things make me anxious like âi have a question for youâ or âthereâs something i need to tell youâ without immediate explanation. thanks!
âcall me, nothing is wrong, just wanna talk on the phoneâ would be so much better than âCall me.â
Actually please to all of this please.
YES PLEASE.
MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!! Any time someone says âwe need to talk,â âcall me,â âcan I ask you a question,â itâs like my stomach drops out my shoes and I begin to panic and sweat.
this is so important!
also please please please donât tell me we need to talk but later and refuse to tell me what itâs about (my dad did that all the time and it really fucks me up)
If you do need to have a serious talk, many anxious folks benefit from advance warning, to get their thoughts together and so they donât feel cornered by a sudden subject change. Something like âHey, ___ has been on my mind a lot and I feel like we need to talk about it soon. Could we take some time for that (later today) (this weekend) (after work) (when weâre not busy)?â Reminding them that you care about them and specifying it if you arenât mad or anything like that is important before you end the interaction, or an anxious person might jump to conclusions and feel bad unnecessarily. If you ARE mad at them or feeling something negative, be honest and upfront about it but try not to say anything you donât mean. Many people with anxiety do not react well to things like overblown threats or ultimatums made in the heat of the moment. It might be very hard for them to move past that and trust you in the future.
A friend of mine posted this. Reblog to save a life!
goodrx.com will find the cheapest pharmacies in your area for your prescriptions and offers a discount program at no cost for some pharmacies (some donât require the prescription to be cheaper at that pharmacy, it will provide a link to the discount card if itâs needed to get the cheaper price).
Picture taken of scene where Sandra Bland allegedly âhung herselfâ, moments after the body was âfoundâ was just released. And of course, no one is buying it.
Police are claiming that Sandra took the trash bag out and tied it to the partition on her shower, and then used it to hang herself with.
Problems with this explanation:
Trash bags/cans are not allowed in jail cells because any lose items are considered a danger to the inmates. If itâs not bolted down to the floor, itâs basically not allowed in a cell
If the police are right and the picture was âtaken right after the body was found with no changes made to the sceneâ then why did they replace the trash bag?
The bag she allegedly used was a âblack industrial sizedâ trash bag, which was not only unlike the white one shown above, but it wouldnât have been strong enough to hold up her body
The partition she âhung herselfâ from is shorter than her. Sandra was a little over 6 ft, and the partition was about 5 ft.
There were no lacerations or bruises on her neck consistent with a hanging.

Officer Digs Mentally Ill Manâs Eye Out of His Socket, Calls Him âN****râ
A deeply unsettling report has been leaked according to which an officer used his finger to rip out a citizenâs eyeball.
The citizen, Kelly Bradley, was in a jail cell at the time, hiding underneath a blanket.
He was not trying to fight with the five officers who barged into the cell for an inmate extraction.
The officers piled onto his body and held him facedown on the ground.
Officer William Hamilton Wilson then did the unthinkable.
He brought his index finger to the Kellyâs eye and begin pushing it in.
As he pushed his finger into Kellyâs, he began curling it outwards in a digging motion.
As Officer Wilson continued digging deep into Kellyâs eye socket, the other officers restrained Kellyâs wrists and ankles with cuffs.
Officer William did not stop digging until Kellyâs eyeball was completely ripped out and dangling onto his cheek.
Captain Scott Anderson saw what happened to Kelly and asked the officers to explain it, but all of them were silent â as if they didnât know.
Pisciotta then remarked about the fact that none of the officers explained to the Captain what actually happened, and covered for each other.
Later, as the officers were washing blood off their costumes, Pisciotta told Officer Wilson that he âwasnât going along with it.â
He said that Wilson responded with racism:
âCome on, heâs just a fucking nigger! What do you care?â said Officer Wilson after having ripped the manâs eye out, according to Pisciottaâs testimony.
âHe thought it was funny,â said Pisciotta.        /source/
Is there anything that i gotta to explain? Is there any excuse for this cop? - No. Definitely. Thatâs fucked up. This is an obvious case of police brutality and racism. Itâs a shame that motherfucker go unpunished. All his friends in blue always bout to cover each other. This is how our system of law enforcement works. We can draw attention to this case, the only way it is hoped that this monster will get their just deserts.

I have been here, multiple times! By referring to the order as a âLittle Rosaâ, you donât have to make as big a deal out of the fact that youâre seeking help.
And believe it or not, it gets better. Rosaâs also gives out sweatshirts to the homeless (or sells them to the general public) that has information on local soup kitchens and even computer training in the area, on an insert sewn inside the sweatshirt.
(Details)
Reblogged again for these excellent details.
Also you can buy slices for the homeless through their online store, from anywhere, not just PA!
here is the link for anyone who wants to buy slices for the homeless

Here's to the people who...
⌠Ask âcan I kiss you?â or lean in halfway and then wait for you to close the gap.
⌠Tap the item of clothing and check to see if youâre okay removing it.
⌠Respect your boundaries *without* pointing out how âniceâ and âpatientâ theyâre being and how very hard theyâre struggling to be okay with it.
⌠Surprise you with kisses *only after* youâve told them how much you enjoy getting surprise kisses from them.
⌠Remember where you donât like to be touched.
⌠Appreciate your body as it is and when it changes.
⌠Communicate before, during, and after intimacy.
Hereâs to the people who make consent a natural part of relationships, as it should be.
You must hear this!!! freakorama5 daniruu
Youâre right, I did have to hear this.
Wow itâs almost like most of human history has been about controlling women⌠or somethingâŚ
If only bicycles could magically cause lesbianismâŚI would travel the world handing out free bikes to every woman I met :D
Honestly riding a bicycle is better than dating men so they should be afraid
Does someone have links to the history behind this? Sounds interesting.
How to buy food from the grocery store if you are living on your own and have literally no idea of what to get
First, know your budget. Have 8 dollars in change? Thatâs not great, but at least you know you have 8 dollars in change. Count it out to make sure. Have a little more? Set aside money specifically for food, so you donât forget and wind up buying everything but groceries and filling yourself with regret. Itâs easy to forget if you donât keep track. You donât need to write it down or anything, just know how much money you have.
How much money you need depends heavily on where you live, what your needs are, and where you shop. Once you get into a routine of buying food for the week, youâll know what to expect. You can use supermarket flyers to help if you really want, since they contain prices for everything.
Plan to buy enough food to make 2 or 3 meals every day for a week. That might seem like a lot of food, but itâs really not, and it will save you on trips to pick up stuff later in the week.
Write out a rough list. It can even be pretty vague, like âCereal, meat, juiceâ. Just donât go in without having some idea of what you need, or youâll wind up overspending.
Before you buy anything, ask yourself this: âWill I actually eat it?â It can be very easy to buy fancy healthy-seeming food because you want to feel good about yourself, but if it tastes nasty and you wind up going to get take-out because actually eating it depresses youâŚitâs kind of pointless. Donât force yourself to buy and eat things you donât actually like unless itâs a medical issue that you eat them. Thatâs no way to live. And donât buy food that goes bad fast, unless you are certain you will devour it soon.
With food, you have the classic â3 choices/pick 2âł problem. Your choices are fast, cheap, and nutritious â pick 2. Food that is cheap and nutritious, like home-made stew or beans cooked from scratch, takes a long time to make. Food that is fast and cheap like frozen pizza, isâŚwell, you already know. Youâre not eating it for the vitamins. And food that is nutritious and fast, like all those vegetarian/organic options in the frozen aisle of more upscale stores, is expensive as hell.
Think in terms of ingredients for meals. Ok, that might sound daunting if youâve never cooked in your life. Do you like toast and peanut butter sandwiches? Buy bread. Do you like quesadillas and mac and cheese? Buy cheese. It can be really simple. Youâll learn how to cook as you go.Â
Some relatively cheap foods you can use for many different meals include bread, tortillas, shredded cheese (whole cheeses are cheaper, but the shredded kind keeps longer and saves on prep time), dry pasta, dry lentils and beans, eggs, frozen vegetable mixes, and bagged salad (heads of lettuce are way cheaper, but bagged is simpler).Â
Peanuts are a cheap, relatively nutritious snack if youâre not allergic; sunflower seeds work, too.
Oatmeal is really cheap; yogurt is a good fast breakfast; juice is more expensive than plain water but can get you some good nutrition while at the same time keeping longer than whole fruit. Check the nutrition label to make sure itâs not just liquid sugar. You can cut the juice with water to make it last longer.Â
Granola bars, protein bars, and nuts are a little more expensive than other stuff listed but theyâre a good source of energy and nutrition when you donât have time for eating a meal. And get any fresh fruits and vegetables that you like to eat if you see them on sale. Just know that berries go bad really fast, so donât leave them out!
Ramen is not super great for you, but honestly? If having ramen is the difference between you having dinner and not having dinner, get ramen. Same with Lunchables, Totinoâs pizza rolls, frozen burritos, gummy snacks and whatever the heck else. Be a realist.
I donât like a lot of canned veggies, but if you do? Go for it. Theyâre a good option since they keep a lot longer than fresh.Â
If you like fish, hake aka whitefish or merluza is pretty cheap right now. You can always get canned fish, too. Fish sticks might actually be about the same price, if not more expensive, and take the same amount of time as cooking a hake filet.
Chicken leg quarters are usually a lot less expensive than other cuts of meat. Thighs are a little more, but still pretty cheap. For other meats, it really depends on where you live. Some places offer really cheap cuts, but usually you need to cook them for a long time to make them tasty and not too tough.
Ok, have you ever played âEarthboundâ? You automatically put condiments on food you consume in the game, and it (usually) makes the food give better HP/stats. Real life is like that. Get condiments and spices.
Like what? Ok, so like garlic powder, onion powder, vinegar, cooking oil, a hot sauce, idk, ask yourself what you like. Do you like mustard? Make sure you have mustard. Mayo? Get mayo. Taco bell hot sauce? Go for it. I donât care if youâre âstealingâ packets from Taco Bell, they can handle it.
Having and using condiments and spices is the difference between eating the same thing every day and eating the same thing every day and enjoying it. Maybe this seems obvious, but weâre not here to judge, weâre talking about basics. Seriously â go to the dollar store or wherever and get a few shakers of spices and cook with them. Itâll be great.Â
