So I’ve been playing the obey me games for awhile now like a lot of people, and I’ve seen a few people bring up something similar to this but I have a theory that all the brothers have a secondary sin. I noticed that while yes they all have traits of all the sins they have their main sin and a second sin they show more than the rest. I think it’s the second way the sins are defined (non-biblical definition) and I think it’s the brother right below them.
Lucifer: main sin Pride secondary sin Greed
Greed is defined as: intense and selfish desire for something, especially wealth, power, or food.
Lucifer is definitely someone who wants complete control of situations and is ready to take whatever he wants even if it means being forceful (ie: making MC accept his pact)
Mammon: main sin Greed secondary sin Envy
Envy is defined as: a feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck.
I feel this one is a tad obvious while yes he is greedy in wanting MCs attention I think it’s also worth noting he is very envious of his brothers having any of MCs attention, being down right rude (or annoying) to his brothers and other demons if he wants to spend time with MC.
Leviathan: main sin Envy secondary sin Wrath
Wrath is defined as extreme anger.
Now at first this one was a bit hard to fully find an example of him being so destructive but then I took time and realized all of the times he’s demanded mammon pay him back for money he lent him, he’s been down right furious yelling and screaming I mean he’s even chased mammon around the house of lamentation and the school. Let’s not even mention the times mammon has sold any of his figures. I had to remember it’s the anger that is wrath not the actions taken from the anger.
Satan: main sin Wrath secondary sin Lust
Lust is defund as: a passionate desire for something
Lust isn’t just sexual especially when we separate it from the biological definition, Satan definitely has a passion for reading and gaining more information about the worlds around him. He wants nothing more to understand and if that’s not a passionate desire for knowledge I don’t know what is
Asmodeus: main sin Lust secondary sin Gluttony
Gluttony is defined as: greedy or excessive indulgence
If we again separate this one from the biblical definition we notice the lack of food and drink being mentioned and we can focus on the excessive indulgence. Asmo is very sexually driven but also has a strong urge for love and acceptance even still he has thousands of clothes, make up and luxury items while yes they are mostly gifts I would say he does indulge in them to an insane degree. He had to have his own private bathroom and bathtub because of how long he takes to bathe because of all the products he uses. I personally would say there’s plenty more examples but that’s the main one I feel is explicitly shown and said rather than heavily implied.
Beelzebub: main sin Gluttony secondary sin Sloth
Sloth is defined as: reluctance to work or make an effort; laziness.
While yes Beel does workout and participates i sports laziness isn’t solely lack of movement is is also lack of effort and in full honesty i don’t think Beel tries to restrain himself from eating unless absolutely necessary and even then i feel he has difficulty keeping himself restrained. While he does seem disappointed in himself for not restraining himself and I’m sure he does feel genuinely bad he still just has poor self control of his sin unlike the rest of his brothers.
Belphegor: main sin Sloth secondary sin Pride
Pride is defined as: a sense of satisfaction, self-respect, or pleasure derived from one's own achievements, qualities, or possessions, or those of people with whom one is closely associated
Yes even Belphie has a secondary sin and while yes he is the youngest so there’s no brother directly beneath him I do feel it circles back to Lucifer’s sin. He’s very confident in himself and his relationship with his abilities even as the youngest he never doubts his strength or abilities in fact he loves it when demons underestimate him so he can make them feel like an idiot for doubting his strength which very obviously would make him feel pride. He also loves when his plans work out like having MC free him from the attic (OG) or when he thought he could keep MC in the attic (NB timeline) his smile and overall language shows how much pride he felt in himself for everything going to plan.
So that’s just my theory on the sins that the brothers have again I feel they all show signs of everyone’s sins just some more than others.
