“I am not small I am a computer program.”
“Are computer programs inherently large?”
thestupidmeanone:
Church could sense a veiled insult when he heard one. The hologram crossed his arms in mild irritation.
“That ‘personality’ is going to help us win this war against Charon, General. I’m not some cheap Dumb AI, I’m the most advanced thing in this city, as far as I can tell. So let’s focus on that, and not me.”
“Very well.”
The AI was starting to get on his nerves, although Doyle had no reason to get angry. They all had to work together after all. That was just their problem, though.
They all had no idea how to work together.
“We should bring in the others.” He said wearily, wanting more than anything for this meeting to be over.
it-goes-swish-swish-stab:
“Dude. The sword didn’t make me pregnant if that’s what you’re worried about.” Tucker smirked and laughed. “I just had to go on some stupid quest thing and the alien knocked me up while I was sleeping. I don’t think you have Sangheili here anyways. The sword is pretty cool though, huh?”
“Oh, thank god.”
Doyle let out a breath of relief.
“In all honestly, I wish someone else had claimed it.”
blueandpinkangel:
“You’re… so tall…” He retorted. Taste of his own medicine for calling t small
“Uh...sorry?”

“Colonel Sarge, my men have informed me that you’ve been issuing...strange orders to them.”

“You’re...so small...”

"How's the leg, Agent Carolina? Emily tells me you took quite the hit."
it-goes-swish-swish-stab:
“Junior drank a gallon of his blood.” He smirked. “Why are you so interested now in it?”
“I-I’m not sure anymore.”
Doyle thought it would be a good idea to try to get to know Tucker, since he was the only other soldier with an alien sword, but now he’s really regretting his decisions.
piecebypixce:
“Oh sure! I’m not really doing anything else anyways. Well.. Not anything important.” After getting an ice pack for the general, She pulled his arm over her shoulder, and helped him to his office. She may not sound it, but she was a little worried for the General.
He never did tell her how he got that injury, but she’d rather not push it. More than likely, he tripped and hurt himself that way.
“If you need me, remember that you can always use the private communications thing to contact me.”
Now probably wasn’t the time to mention he had no idea how to use that. But he was sure he could figure it out, if it ever came to that. Or he could use the comm. system. That was always fun.
Doyle looked down at the files on his desk, and he remembered something he had to do. Might as well kill two birds with one stone.
“Emily, while you’re here, may I ask you something?”
cleverguns:
{ Felix tilted his head and grinned, watching the man. He couldn’t remember this guy’s name, didn’t care to, but Locus talks about him once in a while. So he wasn’t worried when he saw the other’s hand go for his gun. Fuck, this guy probably doesn’t even know how to aim. }
“ Felix. You alright? Look kinda tense. “
The man doesn’t outright attack him, so that was a good sign.
Doyle’s still wary, but there’s not much he can do if this guy does try to kill him. He can just hope that the other man isn’t planning to kill him. Whatever the man's intentions are, he's sure not going to find out by shooting him.
There's also the reason Doyle is out here in the first place.
“I was supposed to meet some of my men out here, but they didn’t show. Only you.”
thestupidmeanone:
Church just sighed. Again. He was actually surprised by the general’s admission, tilting his head curiously at Doyle.
“Wait, what? You’ve never seen an AI before? We’re not exactly a rare treasure, dude.”
Then again, Chorus was a backwater world, forgotten by the UNSC. He doubted their infrastructure had any sort of automation that required the use of an artificial intelligence.
“Well, I’ve heard AI but I’ve never seen one like you. Here, they’re just voices. They don’t have...personality like you.”
That was the nice way of saying “they’re not mean like you”, but Doyle was always one to spare someone else’s feeling. Even if they weren’t technically a person.
it-goes-swish-swish-stab:
“Dude. I have birth to a Sangheili baby. Of course it fucking hurt. Don’t get me wrong, I love the little guy, but ow.” He shrugged. “Church flipped his shit, I was passed out for a few days, Doc was being weirdly motherly, and Caboose almost died from blood loss.”
“C-caboose almost died? How?”
He’s more confused than when they started, considering he knows next to nothing about aliens, or how the process worked, or why it happened.
thestupidmeanone:
Church could only sigh. “Okay, everyone, let’s take a break, shall we?” As the other people in the war room began to disband, the AI floated over to Doyle.
“Not you, general. I think we should discuss this in private, okay? What was up with the blank staring? We’ve got shit to do, here.” He felt like a stern teacher at this point, but if that’s what it took to get all this information across to everyone, so be it.
“Sorry.”
For some reason, Doyle felt like he had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
“I’ve never seen anything like you. It’s quite strange, to say the least.”
If he was to be completely honest, he doubted half the things the Reds and Blues had accomplished. While Kimball had been ready to believe they were these great heroes, he had his doubts.
cleverguns:
{ Oh, this is gonna be fun. }
“ Yeah, just looking for a way through here. You wouldn’t happen to know a quick way through the city, would you? “
It’s the armor that throws him off. It’s not any Fed he knows. It’s not any armor he recognizes. But it’s not the enemy’s armor either.
“S-state your name.” He calls, hand already going down to the weapon he doesn’t entirely know how to use. Locus had taught him how to point and shoot, but it seemed like there was something else to it. Something he had missed, that he couldn’t remember.
it-goes-swish-swish-stab:
“Dude. Lots of things have hurt in my life. You’re gonna have to be more specific.” Tucker rolled his eyes inside his helmet.
“The-the procreation.”
So, maybe, he’s just a little scared of the answer.
piecebypixce:
After giving the general a glare for that ridiculous description. She went on to examine the damage to his leg. “Well, first things first, You’re going to have to stay off of this leg, at least until it heals. There’s a bit of swelling here. Although it doesn’t seem to be broken in any way. I recommend an ice pack, and lots of rest. Otherwise you might just make it worse.”
“Noted, Dr. Grey.”
The last thing he wanted was to end up in more serious trouble because he tripped. It’s not like he saw much action anyways, so the rest thing was fine by him. Staying at his desk would bring back memories of his secretary days. Those were good times.
“You wouldn’t mind helping me with getting to my office? Or, ah, with the ice pack?”
He really doubted he would be able to get anywhere on his own, but thankfully his office and his quarters were close, so that wouldn’t be an issue, as long as Emily helped him get there first.
((Character shaming)) "Is literally the Weenie Hut General."
“I suppose I do deserve it.”
