This is Sir Rodger Williamson as seen earlier this week, out for the day, sport fishing on his large estate. Badgers, although not pescatarians by nature, do sport fish from time to time...I believe the draw may be the worm bait more then anything though. 🤫🛶🗺🐟
Little views, little details. A 100 year old cabin. 💗🏡
Is it just me or is this little pupper pleased with their new portrait?! 🐾
Had the pleasure of painting @realoliverpup this weekend. It is always an honor to work with the memories of these precious souls. 😢💗💗💗🐾
When you’re working on character sketches and realize you kind of want everyone’s outfit. 🤷♀️😅🎀
I’ve had requests for more photos of the house so here are a few! Our guest bedroom all painted and the dinning room with its new lighting (the dinning room table is currently our lawn furniture and random chairs. Gareth is hopefully building a new one soonish. Still to do: bathroom and kitchen renovations 😅 but it’s livable!
I’m still here! Sorry everyone for the silence! I bought a house, sold a house, worked on a major contract and went to school full time this month...so thank you for your patience!
We just bought a new home on Monday. Yesterday friends helped move us in. I’ve only managed to paint two rooms so far, but I took a break today to move some furniture into place so we can get a feeling for the (eventual) finished space. This table will eventually be replaced with a 12-seater that we are planning on building. Thank god we closed over spring break, so much to do! Keep an eye on my story this week for more fun renovations.
Happy St Patricks Day everyone! Here’s an oldy but a goody: 4 years ago today Mousey was just becoming my friend and Little Fox and the gang hadn’t even arrived yet. Here is Mousey dancing an Irish jig on my finger! 🍀My Irish ancestors came over to Canada in the 1800’s from County Cork. We still meet every 5 years a few miles from where the boat landed on the east coast 200 years ago. We actually have a letter that was written from one side of my family tree to the other (9 generations back) telling them how great Canada is and to move—crazy! I exist because of that letter!) Most of my relatives still live within a few miles of that dock actually. I guess we just really liked it. 🤷♀️🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀☘️☘️☘️
I love when people have their pet pose with their portrait! Here is Chanti hanging out with his new portrait. What a dapper fella!
(This didn’t post yesterday, sorry!) #TBT Some journal doodles from last year that I made after listening to an NPR episode. I thought they were appropriate for #internationalwomensday today. Thank you to all the women that gave birth to ALL OF US. And thank you to all the women that were called bossy and forthright, or were told they were unladylike for not being demure submitting to their station in life. Women that were thrown in jail for wearing pants! Or a woman that fought the law to get back her child as an African American woman in the 1800’s. Women who climbed mountains, did “men’s jobs” in WWII, saved lives when they were told they couldn’t be surgeons, fought tooth and nail for the right to be educated! To the women that were forced to quit school because they had to come home and help raise their siblings. To the women that used their bodies to create, feed, protect and raise us, but didn’t have a scrap of a page of recognition for their sacrifice. To the women that came before us, you are bold and beautiful and a fire that burns in all of us forever. Thank you. ❤️

Cleaning out my phone and found this little cutie from years ago.
Last night I found out about the Florida shooting while at dinner. My first question, nearly crying, was “how many...how many dead”. Not “was anyone hurt”...no, I just assumed the worst. That CHILDREN had been killed. America has a problem. We’ve had 30 mass shootings in America since the start of 2018 (according to gunviolence.org). So here’s some perspective for you. My friend that grew up in downtown Johannesburg South Africa moved here a few years ago and said she was nervous about traveling in the US because of racial tension and gun violence. My British mother-in-law was worried for us to move back to the US because of gun violence. Our international reputation isn’t pretty, but I always reassured people that we would be safe...it wasn’t happening near us...but there was a shooting in a mall in Iowa last year not far from us, and our school ran shooting drills recently. So yeah. Let’s admit it. Guys, we have a problem.
