Anyways, now that I'm, nearly 2 seasons through Rescue Bots, my thoughts thus far.
This has NO right to be this good. Like, this is essentially Transformers for babies ok? But like, it's good??? (a bit predictable but, like as I said, Transformers for babies so it makes sense)
The theme song fucking slaps?? Like, bit of an ear worm. Also, the insert songs (esp the Midwinter one) are unreasonably good. Why is show going so hard?
On that note, the fucking voice cast in this show is cracked??? Tim Curry, Mark Hamill, Alex Kingston?? Bruh.
I was unsure about the art style at first but it's grown on me. It's fine.
Boulder is a good boy I love him sm (he reminds me a lot of TFA Bulkhead tbh)
acab except for Chief Burns. This man does more non cop stuff than 'cop' stuff, the only stuff we've seen him do was issue a ticket for running a red light and catching some reoccurring thieves. and he knows when to be lenient. honestly his most common calls seem to be rescuing that cat from the tree lol
like, the police force of Griffin rock seems to consist of TWO guys and the police station is just, a single building with two cells in the main room. the crime rate in this city is basically 0. Griffin Rock might have a lot of issues but, a high crime rate is not one of them.
Also he should get the dad of the year award. Best dad ever right there. He adores and loves his kids so much. <3
Still NO idea what the deal is with the mom. I assumed she existed and just, idk, worked on the mainland/abroad or something, cause the guy in the cake store made a comment about her. Suggesting she exists and is around from time to time. But a later episode had Chief getting flustered around woman and ending with them on a solo hike, so like, is this man married or not???Do you have a wife? Divorced? Dead? Who fucking knows (not the writers clearly).
The choice to have the vast, vast majority of the plots be man (robot) vs nature, or man(robot) vs machine type plots, as opposed to having actual villains is interesting (the first time I had this thought I was promptly introduced to Dr. Morocco so lol there are human villains).
Remembering that this takes place in the same universe as Prime is VERY funny. DO wish we'd had an episode of them dealing with the violent, fucked up weather that happened cause of the s1 Prime finale tho. Would have been interesting seeing them dealing with keeping everyone safe till this weird shit that seems to be happening world wide is going on. Like, they can't stop the weather cause it's just nature going wild, they just have, well, weather it out. And then it just. Ends abruptly. Would have been a fun way to tie them in. But alas.
Also, lore drop, one can just, become a triple changer through training??? Sure ok, I guess??? Didn't expect that honestly.
Maybe visiting the Rescue bots is how/when Bumblebee learned how to drive a boat, since it is out in the middle of the ocean.
