Today's shift was busy. We had a lot of passengers travelling for funerals, vacations and jobs, promotions and business. We had a lot of people who needed help with the Kiosks and who needed assistance and directions where they needed to go and where the oversize baggage drop area is located, and dictions where the airlines they are flying to where it is located. Sometimes we had passengers know where they could get tested and where the washroom and restaurant were. Moreover, we had these passengers whose flight was cancelled, and they were sitting on the floor beside the kiosks. Goldie and I saw them and went to see if we could help them with anything since it was not busy. We asked them if they needed help with anything, and they told us their flight got cancelled, and they gave them a coupon to get a free meal. So it was hard to understand them since they didn't speak English. I used my hands and phone to show them pictures, and I told them where they could sit down comfortably. Also, it was our first time seeing those coupons, and Goldie thought it was a hotel Coupon at first because they kept telling us that they were going to pick them up and take them to a hotel, etc. were not sure. I suggested going downstairs and went to Tim Hortons and asked about the coupon, and the lady said they could use them here as long as it was WestJet since the CSA was not there. Since couples wanted to eat food. When we went downstairs trying to figure out the coupon situation, we met someone for Humber who spoke the same language and which we knew. She helped us translate, which we were glad. We told them they could either stay here until their flight or book at a hotel to stay in until it's the time since they were flying at midnight. They choose to stay. We told them they could use the coupon to get the food anywhere at the airport. We showed them where they need to grab food if they get hungry etc. overall, that was a great experience every day; I learned new things working at WestJet. I also learned a few words in people's language etc. I enjoyed today's shift since it was busy, and I learned new things simultaneously.
I love everyone at WestJet. Btw Goldie brought us kids stickers they give to children, but we were excited to get them and put them on our phones to show off that we work with WestJet. And also, my good friend that I met from WestJet brought me Wendy's witch; it was sweet.
