Universal Studio Singapore@ RWS- when going to movie theaters for dates are too main stream.. We go universal studio Singapore for date.. Whoopee..
Domino Pizza- to be frank when it comes to pizza delivery for gatherings, I really like Domino.. the crust is crispy and not as thick as compared to pizza hut, and in terms of flavour I love the BBQ chicken myself the most.. i don't think this is any cheaper as compared to pizza hut, but i think this quality is sometimes more important that the small difference in price.. btw Spizza has some great pizza and pasta too.. *wonder* if i did blogged about Spizza before.. hmm.. let me check :D
Watami@ Orchard Ion- I think i have blogged a couple of Watami post.. this is one of the places we frequent often as they close pretty late as compared to other japanese restaurants.. the usual stuff we eat when we have jap.. without fail he will order sashimi bowl and me the cha soba.. my bf has a thing for tempura prawns.. and me.. i have a thing for mental.. what surprises me every time i visit watami is they are always updating their business strategy.. the last time i visited the same Watami at Orchard Ion, they served their food in bigger portions.. and this time round.. all the main course shrink.. the cha soba.. as you can see is a little too small.. without a doubt I still prefer the cha soba at Sushi Tei, my bf's sashimi bowl looks tiny too.. ): and spending about $18 on tempura.. hmm.. a little ex for 3 prawns ): however the egg mental was delicious.. if only we can have more mentai on the egg.. hahaz.. nonetheless, this is still one of our favourite map restaurants.. whee..
Yoshinoya@ Marina Square- Im not a big fan of many things until i met my bf.. and yoshinoya is one of them... i had the beef and vegetables rice bowl and my boy has the beef and chicken combo set.. i feel that the portion of meat is a bit too little for the amount of rice given.. but if you are craving for some fast food and you are absolutely sick of burger and fries, having yoshinoya is not such a bad idea after all.. however, this is definitely not the cheapest fast food around..
Macchiato@ Starbucks- the boy has the triple shot macchiato and i had the hazelnut macchiato.. in fact macchiato is our new favourite recently.. usually i ordered our coffee with skimmed milk, but jus recently i feel that the coffee is more flavourful if we ordered it with normal milk... i really like bitter sweet coffee, hence i always request for less pumps of the syrup.. time to get your Macchiato ppl!!! :D
Louis King@ Vivo City- This is my second time at the restaurant but my bf's first. For some reasons, we having craving for meat... lots and lots of meat... we ordered the Queen Isabelle (for 2-3pax) which consist of lamb, beef, chicken and ribs.. it cost us about $89.90 and my bf got half a pint of beer (kronenberg) for $19.. i guess the beer is a little pricey but since my bf seldom drink i guess its fine.. hahaz.. the steaks are fresh, not the best.. but is pretty shiok to have 3 slabs of beef on the plate.. my bf finished all 3 lambs.. he said it doesn't taste that good.. but he was full of praises for the chicken thigh... the meat is so tender, it falls off the moment your fork touches it.. as you can see from the photo, the breast meat was left untouched.. usually I'm the one who eats the breast meat, but i was way too full.. the ribs were pretty soft and tasty.. however, we spotted a strand of hair halfway through the dinner.. we had it replaced however we were just to full to eat it.. I was pretty surprised when the waitress told me that we have to pay $2.50 to pack the remaining food, but we have too much food left.. so no choice.. King Louis is a very good place for gathering, as they have tables big enough to hold a group of 15 people.. it is a little too noisy as we could barely hear ourselves.. all in all.. this is a place you were want to visit maybe once in 3 months... hahaz... oh btw.. the potatoes and cut fries were simply delicious!!!!!! service in the restaurant is pretty good, but the lady who served us at the entrance... hmm... not that great.. becos of her we almost dine somewhere else...
Sushi express@ somserset basement- recently they jus opened one more stall at somsert set.. I simply adore this restaurant!!! The queue is bearable at this place.. I can eat to my fill.. And I can't get enough of grilled salmon belly.. Goodness gracious.. This branch allowed you to buy your own drinks in.. Simply awesome.. Need I say more? Try now!!! It's 1.50+ per plate do you have to think so long to give it a try?
KFC- I think a lot of ppl have been raving about this KFC bucket rice or at least that was what my bf told me he had been reading about on hardware zone forum.. So we decided to give it a try.. I think for $4 they have been rather generous with the popcorn chicken.. The sauce was a little too salty for my liking and the rice tasted a little too instant.. But.. We are at a fast food restaurant what can we expect from a $4 rice bucket right? Hahaz.. I still prefer the fish burger.. Whee!!! I think it has been some time since I last had KFC as I thought lemon tea was freshly brewed using Lipton tea bags and fresh lemon.. To my disappointment... It wasn't.. It tastes like.......... Crap.... Not to my licking.. They also thickened their fries??? We top up our fries to cheese fries and I was surprised that the fries were thickly cut.. Interesting.. In terms of taste.. Cheese fries still taste awesome!!! :D
Shenton way golden bridge roasted meat chicken rice@ opposite OCBC office building (inside the coffee shop directly opposite the temple :D) my bf got me addicted to roast meat hahaha.. The crispy skin leaves me craving for more.. And this store is awesome for lunch.. And I eat this once a week for lunch hahaz.. The roast meat rice alone is $3 and any addition of toufu or egg is $0.50.. My colleagues like to order roast meat and char siew and that is 4 bucks.. Duck with either roast meat or char siew is $5 and duck drum stick with roast meat is $6.. The box is so full that you could hardly close!!! To make myself feel better I ordered plain white rice without the black sauce (as it has a lot of tropical flour- starch inside) and I try to eat less rice by eating more toufu.. Hahaz.. I also made an effort to remove all the fats from the roast meat by jus enjoying the crispy skin and the non fatty meat ahahhaz... Simply awesomeness :D
l'entrecote@ Suntec Basement- this is my first time here with my bf.. I decided to surprise my bf and treat him to a sumptuous dinner of steak and free flow fries.. The ambience was nice.. They lay white napkins across the paper to be used as table cloth and we had a great time scribbling and drawing on the paper while waiting for our food to arrive. My bf found it a little disappointing that the steak they used were not fresh.. One thing about the steak served was that it was cut into thin slices for convenient consumption.. Nonetheless I still enjoy the free flow fries.. We also orders escargot and French onion soup.. The escargot were pretty small.. And the French onion soup was a little too salty but it goes well with the bread.. I had the sea bass with garlic sauce and it was awesome.. (: my bf also had a glass of white wine.. The bill adds up to about S$110.. I think it was quite reasonable and affordable.. (: do give it a try the next time if you have the opportunity!
KT grill@ USS- never would I expect the restaurant inside USS to serve quality and fresh steak.. What a nice surprise.. We were hungry after our trip to adventure cove in the morning.. And having annual pass for USS we decided to take a walk and get ourselves some lunch inside.. The only thing I had appetite for was meat and rice hence we settled for KT grill- a fine dinning restaurant decorated in the 90s. It has really nice ambience, cutlery, setting, music and last but not least the food surprises us.. Even the free bread was fresh and crispy.. Yummy yummy (:
Tall Girl Cuisine@ 220 East Coast Road- whenever my bf craves for ramen, dumplings and Xiao long Bao he will suggest coming over here to do takeaway.. Xiaolongbao is $1 each.. Vegetables prawn and meat dumplings comes in a box of 10 and cost $7. The pan fried dumplings cost $8 for 10. The delicious ramen cost about $6 per serving.. My bf dislikes the cucumber in it.. But I never got them to remove as that is the only source of veg I got if we are getting dinner from there.. Hahaz.. The minced meat ramen taste really good as the meat is tender and the salty black sauce goes really well with the plain ramen.. I wouldn’t recommend the Xiao Long Bao as the skin is too thick and most of the time there are holes in the Xiao long Bao so all the soup is gone.. Dumplings aren’t too bad given the price though the skin can be a little thick.. But.. It is something different compared to the western, Italian and jap that we always eat.. :D the best part- the shop closes at 11pm daily :D
Gastronomia@ 112 Katong- do you want to know where has the most value for money and delicious Tiramisu? That is definitely Gastronomia.. To tell you the truth I am not a big fan of coffee soaked cakes.. Cake and coffee on their own.. Yes.. But together.. I'm not so sure.. But Gastronomia Tiramisu totally change my perspective of them.. The fresh sweet cream.. The aroma coffee.. They are jus perfect tgt.. They are about 12.90 per box and you can simply dig your spoon in them and eat directly from the box.. The Oreo cookies cheesecake... Omg.. The cream cheese is so smooth, so fresh and delicious.. With the crunchy oreo cookies.. They are simply to die for.. Drool.. Drool.. I think I need more of them......... Now....
Sushi Tei @Paragon- everyone knows about sushi tei but do you know which are the best on the menu? My fav- cha soba. I like how the smooth green noodles slide down my throat when I swallow them in big mouthful..And their cha soba are in such a nice green colour.. His fav- fresh roe, sea urchin and crab on rice.. I think this is a seasonal item.. Nonetheless they were fresh and absolutely yummy.. I requested for the mentai scallop as well.. However the mentai were so salty that we had to order another main (chicken and egg rice bowl) to go with the mentai.. The scallop were big and fresh, a little too dry from the grilling but it wasn’t that bad.. We also had soft shell crab with roe sushi which we took off the belt while waiting for our food to arrive… This is also one of my to-order when I go sushi tei.. Im a big fan of their cha soba, mentai and soft shell crab sushi (: so when will you be going to sushi tei?
Magnum Pleasure Store@ Vivo city- the make shift store is really pretty and it is located right next to the fountain.. How romantic.. We decided to head there for desserts after ramen.. They stop serving mains.. But you still get to make your own desserts (: whee.. We arrived around 10pm. One magnum cost $7 usually is about $4.50 each.. We get to choose 3 toppings! I went for the caramel bits, golden leaves (golden coated con flakes) and crushed pistachio and coat my ice cream with dark Choco drizzled with milk Choco.. Yummy! While my bf had almonds, golden nuggets and crunchy Choco balls, with his ice cream dipped in white Choco drizzled with dark Choco.. Trust me.. The experience is perfect.. But we almost got type III diabetes from it resulting in muscular dysfunction( we dripped ice cream everywhere and start licking our fingers), whoopies syndrome (we kept laughing and giggling) and nocturnal disorder (after the sugar rush we feel tired).. We came up with one more syndrome.. Can't remember hahaz.. But overall is a cool place (:
Keisuke Tonkotsu King@ 1 Tras Street- we chanced upon this place the last night we went for burger.. I really like the atmosphere of the Japanese restaurants.. Is small and cosy and during dinner time they are packed! We ordered the sanjin ramen apart from their famous ramen which only serves 30 per day.. They had a ladies special where you get a smaller bowl of ramen and a side plus choice of drinks at 11.90. Pretty value for money :D my bf went for the sanjin special with roast meat which cost $14.90.. The roast meat was awesome.. We simply love the broth.. The milky flavorful ramen broth.. Now I'm craving for a hot bowl of ramen again.. Oh man.. ): the serving isn't that big.. You may want to top up 2 bucks for extra noodles :D note: their bamboo shoots taste awesome too (:
Ippudo@ Mandarin Gallery- we ordered the original gyoza (is nice, but they are really small ):) as starters and we ordered the akamaru for our noodles (hardness for noodles, medium)- this is actually ippudo's original tonkotsu broth enhanced with special blended miso paste and fragrance garlic oil.. Served with thin noodles, pork belly, kikurage and spring onions.. I love the tamago- flavored egg.. Simply love it! I like how the egg yolk is half cooked..... Yum yum (: my bf had the special with the egg, tender pork cube and bamboo shoots.. I'm not a big fan of bamboo shoots, but theirs are delicious.. :D they also allowed you to order extra portion of noodles at $2 :D whee.. I'm craving for ramen now..
