A mate of my husbands has lost his owl, and its sad and all, but his whole friendship group is so "on" when it comes to owl care and owl behaviour honestly its like I'm seeing them all for the first time. Where have they been keeping this secret owl knowledge? I have never had a conversation I don't think about owls with any of them accept the owl keeper, and now husband is talking about sadness calls compared to sad whistles and I'm like....really owl whisperers, Even their mate who lives in an old renault is there talking about hunting spheres?

We are re-watching How I Met Your Mother, it would have been neater if the jumper in episode 1, had jumped and been Max?

Or when Robin says "this bizarre night" perhaps the jumper had been persuaded not to jump by Max who fell in and died?

I know that's the wrong night but once you've set it up, it should come back!

Anyway whatever happened to Max Robin should have reported on it.

Also Robin discusses she's been on a story where a monkey learns to play the ukele! There should be more cross over!

Guys, I've finally discovered why I'm always broke!

My family gifted me some money. Not mega bucks but the equivalent of my yearly wage. I immediately started cruising Amazon for Halloween decorations. Here's me thinking I don't earn enough, or that my living expenses were too high, when actually I have a Halloween addiction! It feels so good to admit it. :)

As a young teen I fell in with a much older person who now 20 years later I realise was unhealthy for me. After 16 years of physical and emotional abuse the person died, so in my late 20s I was left with an odd freedom, where I could express myself. This has lost me friends, and it has led to a number of people trying to fill the void of criticism and thought control. So here are a few things I actually believe that I have never been able to say. 1.) There are worse things to be than overweight. 2.) Gender is a social construct, sex is biology. 3.) Sexual intercourse should be fun. 4.) Other people's sexual preference is no concern of mine. 5.) As long as they are not effecting me, other people's thoughts and opinions are nothing to do with me. 6.) Marijuana should be legal. 7.) Alcohol sales should be more closely policed. 8.) Books are fab 9.) Modern technology is great. 10.) TV is great 11.) We should strive for peace. 12.) We should have global nuclear disarmament. 13.) Nuclear power is dangerous. 14.) Solar, wind and wave power is much more efficient than we have been led to believe. 15.) Hydrogen powered cars and fuel cells should be invested in. 16.) All humans should have access to land to grow their own food. 17.) Countries are pointless we should have a global currency, and no land borders. 18.) All property is theft, property should be with consent not force. 19.) Countryside and nature need protection. 20.) Killing or harming anyone for any reason is inherently bad.

So I have a question?

The child playing August in the new film Wonder is wearing facial prosthetics.

I have Treacher Collins and I hate the book, as I think it’s a poor representation, but also the Author decided to make August deformed by TCS after both mocking a child with what she assumed was this condition and having found out about it after writing the book.

I therefore feel that effort should have been made to find an actor with a facial disfigurement if not TCS itself, or the story should have been changed to reflect another deformity or disability and use an actor who doesn’t fit the usual Hollywood asthetic. However I have been called out for this on Facebook and I wonder what you think? I feel this is similar to people “playing” autistic, or deaf or blind or transgender etc etc when there are perfectly wonderful actors with these things who don’t get considered for any part.

At work I have an adversary, a man who phones several times a day with ridiculous requests. The problem is, he is an English professor at a top public school and I have an absolute mental breakdown negotiating any conversation with him. Ok no problems, I said today. The depiction of ninjas as dressed all in black comes from traditional Japanese theatre.  Actual historical ninjas didn’t dress in black because it’s conspicuous as hell in the daytime and even at night in the dark a person dressed in solid black tends to stand out; dark grey or blue is better for hiding in shadows.  Usually they just wore ordinary, like, people clothes which are far better for blending into your surroundings in than a specialised professional costume.

BUT YOU KNOW WHO DID DRESS ALL IN BLACK LIKE THAT

and it was a generally accepted convention that the black-clad stagehands were invisible, so they could be on stage at the same time as the actors and move things around and the audience would just mentally CG them out

but then one day because a director was a GENIUS, during an otherwise normal performance of a play, suddenly a stagehand stepped forward, assassinated one of the main characters and then melted back into the background

THEY WERE A NINJA

AND THE AUDIENCE LOST THEIR MINDS BECAUSE IT WAS AMAZING

and eventually it lost its mind-blow value because after a while everyone had seen a play like that, so although the “stagehands wear black and are invisible” convention continued, the new “ninjas wear black and are invisible until they choose to strike” convention became established, and from then on fictional ninjas have just worn black because it looks so cool.

So in fact the answer to “What’s the difference between ninjas and stage crew?” is “You will never know until they stab you.”
