They ask something small of you. A thing you would prefer not to do, but is not so terrible. You think you are working your way up, but in fact they are changing you. Moulding you into what they think you should be, one compromise at a time.

Since the first book is titled The Will of the Many, and the second book is titled The Strength of the Few, I really think the third book should be titled The Courage of One. “Courage” is the last word Vis heard from the vision of his dead father after all, and if the first two titles are any indication we’re seeing a progression from “Many” to “Few” to “One”.
