Would disagree personally, I just think that kind of pioneering is foreign to us. From Maori and Pacific explorers through to European colonialists the world was once so huge and insurmountable that many people in our history have boarded ships with no expectation of return. I would agree with you though that the demands if the journey in terms of mental health and social cohesion could be the biggest challenge any group of humans have ever dealt with - living in a box for years on end only to swap that for another box on Mars that you cant just go for a walk outside from.
