I've seen a lot of people interpreting the title "The Summer Hikaru Died" as if something was going to happen to 'Hikaru,' since the (og)Hikaru died during the winter instead of the summer. But I do really think its referring to (og)Hikaru instead. Except it's not about his actual death, it's about Yoshiki finally letting him go, finally getting over the loss of his friend so he can heal and move on, to see 'Hikaru' as his own person rather than a replacement for (og)Hikaru. The title doesn't actually mean someone is dying, it's a metaphor for Yoshiki finally letting himself move on.
