About Me
I’m Chama [tʃɔ’-mɔ]. Lady of an age, deeply influenced by the culture of the southeastern U.S., but also having lived extended periods in other places, practicing doctor of physiotherapy, religious, traveler, recovering people pleaser, friend, platonic life partner of @onewngdseraph (hush, her husband knows).
I’ve been on this hellsite (affectionate) since 2010, deleted my tumblr, started over in 2012. I’ve been involved in some form of fandom since I was eight or so years old, only then there was no internet and I was hand writing stories about my favorite characters.
Fandoms
The forever ones include Sailor Moon (90s classic anime), Naruto (minus the last two chapters), Dragon Age, Mass Effect, phase one MCU, campaign one Critical Role, Fallen Hero; despite the places to which they evolved, or how they ended, or how some of them have been rebooted, the originals have a warm shelf in my heart.
But really, I love anything with a compelling story. Books I will stan forever include Christelle Dabos’s The Mirror Visitor, Jonathan Stroud’s Lockwood and Co., Naomi Novik’s anything. I am always on the lookout for a good read, so please feel free to share recommendations.
I don’t pretend to go deep into literary and thematic criticism. Some things absolutely grab me when others don’t. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Discussion is great. Enthusiasm is great. Arguing with people over their preferences is absolutely pointless. Seeking to make people feel bad over their preferences or choices is cruel.
Interests
Oh, so many, but baking, humility and self-awareness, human biomechanics, the economy of words that pierce to the heart, history, future, brain health, neuroplasticity and the nature of change, flexibility, spiritual health and the realities of living in a physical world, sleep, music, writing, sewing, languages
Tags
I’m pretty diligent about tagging, mostly for myself, but if requested by others, I will try to tag things I know are salient. Here are a few:
#chama spam #music rec #brb dying
If you followed me for a particular reason, try searching my tags to find those. With 20k+ posts over ten years, there is bound to be something there! If you can’t find it but you have a burning curiosity, feel free to ask. I’ll do my best to answer.

Reality
As much as I adore Tumblr interests and I try to keep up with friends here, daily life and personal commitments have a way of prioritizing themselves, you know, for food and sleep and the council tax. I’m not the best at responding to questions or engaging to the fullest level I would hope to, but it’s not a personal reflection on anyone here. Or is it? Teehee.
Philosophies
Ask yourself, of yourself, ‘Why?’ Be respectful. Be kind. If curious, ask. Choose carefully which hill you’ll die on. Always use wisdom. Think long term. Comment on every fic you read. Follow/unfollow with impunity. Laugh honestly. Reserve the right to roll one’s eyes without condemnation.
