"We were out camping by a forested riverside, cooking salmon over a swedish torch fire. Mark noticed a sleuth of bears 200 yards away, at the base of a grassy hill. There were probably only 20 to 30 bears or so, but it felt like an army of men approaching. Zoe figured there'd be more bears scouting the surrounding area for food, so it was concluded that we ought to sneak away to the bay. So long as kraken seemed extinct, floating over deep water always presented itself as a safe escape. On our way out, a familiar deep growl rumbled behind tall plants. Drool hit our faces as a large brown mass suddenly towered over us. Hungry grizzly bear. A well placed shot to the beast's throat filled it with blood and damaged the spinal cord, which prevented the bear from alerting the sleuth nearby. A bear can cross the length of a football field in 7 seconds... and even faster in the wild. Could have been an ending rather than a story, had a loud rifle been used instead." - Grandpa
