Hi! Youre kind of the best guy I know for Evil Xisuma stuff so if I may:
What is like the Canon lore behind Xisuma, EX, and Jeff the minion? I've been trying to find some like organized info and even attempted to watch all of Xisuma's season 5(? I dont remember now) and I've still not managed to find out how much of the reoccurring things in your fics are canon or headcanons. (I love your fics btw gnajfjkskk)
Ok, I'm not the best person to ask this question but I'll answer to the best of my ability (also thank you, I'm glad you like them!!). Just a warning, this post will be really long. There is a 37 video long playlist that exists, so I'll go through a little of the first few videos there, then jump to Season 8 and Evil X's role there (Season 8 was my first Hermitcraft season, and also what introduced me to Evil X). Evil X's first appearance was in a April Fools video (Hermicraft III 350 Evil Inside), over a decade ago. He showed up manipulating Xisuma to make him grief people's bases and then forget he did that, including removing all the water from Xb's base, blowing up another base, and putting a bunch of water in Biffa's base (which Biffa actually liked). The episode didn't really go into where Evil X came from, or really any lore as to why they're here outside a goal of destroying the server.
The next episode he appears in (Hermitcraft III 450 The End Of Hermitcraft?) just has Evil X killing Xisuma a bunch of times, including a funny Tom and Jerry-esq clip of the two running around in circles as Evil X tries to kill him. An interesting note from that episode is how Evil Xisuma thanks Herobrine for helping him figure out how to sneak onto the server. There were also apparently minions of Evil Xisuma who helped destroy the server in that season, but that's another detail that doesn't match the cannon of Season 8 (an important thing about that season is how Evil X had to recruit Hermits to be his minions, so we can assume his minions from Season 5 no longer work with him). He also has minions called Withermen that show up in the next episode (Episode 500 Evil X and The Withermen) for the same purpose, and turn the ground beneath them to obsidian or something. Evil X then says he wants to rule Hermitcraft, but the Withermen mutiny and threaten them, so Evil X runs off. He and X then kill the Withermen together, and Evil X's minions come back to help 'clean up.' However this is all a ploy so Ex can banish Xisuma to episode 666 and take over the Hermitcraft server, except they accidentally fall into their own lava trap, and banish themself to episode 666. Also I didn't know this was cannon, but Evil X refers to their 'Evil Cell Phone' in episode 450, which means that the bit in which he calls normal things evil (like Evil Tower or Evil Carrots) is actually cannon.
Now let's skip to episode 666. In this episode Evil X is talking to himself, and a very growly voice gets annoyed at them and says they need to be more Evil (yep, it's Jeff the Minion. I'm kinda shocked he didn't appear til ep 666 tho). Evil X then goes to kill Xisuma, but runs away because they're scared of the flowers that X is holding. Xisuma goes to investigate the portal they came in through, and finds himself in a Minecraft version of Doom, in which he kills Evil Xisuma and apparently banishes the evil from them for a while. He finds his way back to Hermitcraft, while Evil X laments his plan failing again. Jeff the Minion then calls him an idiot, and when Evil X says that being Evil isn't fun anymore he leaves. Evil X then returns to Hermitcraft to say he's not evil anymore, and had enough of the Evil Voice (I don't think Jeff the Minion is named in the episode). Later on in episode 800, after coming back to do some more evil a couple times, Evil X appears and starts walking over to Xisuma from a distance, and X bans him saying he should've done that a long time ago.
So what we've really learned from that is A) The whole lightning/mind control parts of Evil Xisuma's character are cannon (this is also shown in Season 8). B) Evil Xisuma is immune to damage from lightning, and also from lava/fire as well. C) In the cannon of some of the older videos, Evil X can fly and summon items. I'm not sure if this remains true in Season 8's cannon, or even in some of the later episodes featuring them. D) Evil Xisuma hates both Xisuma and Hermitcraft, and wants to destroy them both. Later on, he wants to rule the server. E) Evil Xisuma is not banned from the server until episode 800. There is no mention of the void, as the whole banned to the void thing was a fan creation. F) The evil voice did exist (and probably was there for all of Evil X's evil-ness), but was in few episodes and might not have been named.
I skipped forward in the playlist after watching the second video because I wanted to touch on the whole 'Worm Man' thing that happens later. I've seen this a lot in fandom works, so I figured I might as well learn how much of what I've seen was cannon. The video (Hermitcraft Season V: E38 - Where's Worm Man on Zedaph's channel) starts with Worm Man trapped in a cell, trying to break out on his 522nd attempt by running into the wall. Evil Xisuma eventually appears, and Zedaph asks him to help him out saying "Some lunatic has imprisoned me," to which they respond "Yes I know, it was me!" Evil X then says he's not evil anymore, and has come to free Worm Man. There's some silly dialogue, and Evil X reveals he's good at knitting and went to flower arranging school. I've heard that before, but will definitely be working it into something in the future now. In general Evil X really likes Worm Man, and that comes up in at least one episode after the fact.
If you'd like to look, there is a playlist called 'All Canon Evil Xisuma Appearances' that I used to make this post. One interesting detail is that the 13th video in that playlist is set-up for the Season 8 lore, meaning 24 out of the 37 videos happen in or after Season 8.
Now, let's move on to Season 8 since there's not much else to talk about. In Season 8 Evil Xisuma brings X onto a plan to create a shop called the Evil Emporium, which uses its own currency called Derp Coin, that must be bought with diamonds in order to buy from the shop. He also pushes for other shops across the server to start using Derp Coin, which is somewhat successful. He brings a few Hermits into this, namely Wels, Beef, and Jevin to act as his minions. He ends up turning Jevin into a green slime, and Beef into... I don't really know, some scaley version of himself. Notably I think Wels escapes unharmed, though it's been a while so I'm not entirely sure. In order to get the shop working Evil X mind controls Xisuma to work for him, and uses his magic to make him work for the shop. Towards the end of the season his powers start to fail, and he leaves when the moon falls by flying away on elytra. That's basically the last time we see him.
Also I can't really make a post about Evil X without mentioning Evil's Fault. Evil's Fault is a fan animation by Th3Pooka, which shows Evil X struggling with Jeff the Minion. It got a lot of attention, including attention from Hermits, and Th3Pooka was hired to create the animations for Xisuma's Season 8 lore. Even if it might not be cannon, I recommend it.
funny thing about anxiety is sometimes it kind of breaks your sense of danger. like i am known for repeatedly putting myself in situations that make my friends go "bro you couldve died. werent you scared?" and the answer is 👍 yjeah. i did it scared. i do everything scared. i didnt know that was the actual important kind of scary because i usually have to ignore my fears to function in society. it will happen again. watch out.
