You will see posts flagged by the system as nsfw, but if I'm the original poster, those are just studies of (Gerard Way) legs , no actual nudity. If it's a reblog, it might actually be nsfw.
I'm still sooo indecisive about my digital style so I wanted to try out a few different rending techniques with some simple portrait studies.
Whitaker was supposed to be simply a color version of a bnw pencil textures style I've used before but I ended up detalining too much so it looks too smooth for what I was trying to achieve. + I'm still too dependant on color picking from the reference.
The pencil like styles with a finite color range definitely helps my problems with color thoery, but I still need more practice, trying to go for alcohol markers technique was a MESS.
The classic smooth, air brush heavy rendering was not as hard as I thought but probably not my fave, I need my textures.
Had some fun with the more graphic approach using "rake"? brushes tho, I wanna see if I can include them in a more analog-feeling style. It actually started as a study from grayscale to color but honestly I need to work more on that.
Also I completely forgot that very vibrant colors look more over the top on mobile soo just know the intended view of this post is through a computer monitor lol.
