it was dreadful.
why is college so dreadful.
that was basically hu tao’s thoughts every time she stepped on the path leading to the huge campus.
to put it simply; she did not like studying. like, at all. she was already failing all of her classes when she was in highschool, what more in college!?
luckily, she met you in highschool!
you were a really smart student, almost an expert in whatever you do. you were also really cute to hu tao’s eyes. you were perfect to the brunette.
sooo, she confessed! and you accepted! yayyy!!!
anyway, ever since you two began dating, you have been her personal tutor ever since. you knew that hu tao wasn’t really doing well academically, so as her smart lover, you obviously helped her.
and that just went on until the 4th year of college.
“hey, y/n. have i ever told you that you’re my favorite tutor?”
“yes, you have tao. i’ve heard it ever since we started dating.”

yoimiya was a little different from hu tao. she’s actually pretty decent in her academics.
but having you in her life really made a huge difference in her grades.
you’re really, really smart. when she first saw you get perfect marks back in the 1st year on that one exam, she felt an arrow pierce through her heart! so, months later, she confessed!
honestly, you were actually really shocked when she confessed. you actually admitted that you’ve liked her ever since, which took yoimiya aback but she loved to hear it nonetheless!
after that, she’s gotten strangely smarter. nowhere your level but definitely better than what her past grades.
but she didn’t really love studying. so having you constantly asking her to study in cafes or studying in each other’s houses was a really big adjustment for yoimiya.
but she endured it. i mean, she loved looking at you.

“y/nnnnnnn, please just shoot your shot! i’m sick of hearing you whine about that yae miko girl every. damn. time!”
you sighed, putting down the magazine onto the bed. lumine scolded you really bad today because a certain sOMEONE WON’T TALK TO THAT ONE PRETTY GIRL you’ve been whining to her about your “hallway crush,” as lumine would like to call it.
“it isn’t that easy, lumi. she’s so pretty. i might embarrass myself just by even whispering something when she’s near!” you replied, letting yourself fall down on the soft bed. the shorter blonde just scoffed, rolling her eyes in disbelief.
“you’re hopeless..”
“hey!”
“what? i’m just telling the truth. if you’re so scared of approaching her then why even bother going here just to rant!?” lumine has a point. what’s even the purpose of swooning over someone but not doing anything about it?
of course, you were too stubborn to understand that.
you hugged the pillow tightly as you roll around the bed. lumine sighed, thinking ‘what am i gonna do with you?’ as she watched you slowly fall into insanity.
“get your act together, y/n l/n!” the blonde yelled all of a sudden. “tomorrow, at monday, you’re gonna pass that hallway, you’re gonna swallow everything up and say hi! alright!?” the way she yelled at you sent shivers through your spine. it felt as if you were in the military.
“but.. i don’t even know if she’s a lesbia-”
“of course she is! how are you this dense y/n!?”
“alright alright! don’t be so abusive with me, lumi!” you jokingly said, making lumine scoff. “whatever. just make sure you’ll get a date for tomorrow night, alright?” you blush thinking about the yae miko going on a date with you, but you could simply nod.
monday finally arrived, and it was about time for recess. you were so focused on what you planned for today that you couldn’t even hear what the teacher was talking about. you felt a bundle of emotions--honestly, you felt like throwing up--but you kept calm. the sound of the bell rang through your head, cutting off your thoughts.
as you were about to pack things up, the teacher called you.
“where do you think you’re going, ms. l/n?”
what???
“don’t you remember? our section has an extended schedule today because of the upcoming competition we have regarding this topic.”
...
you almost cried. you dropped your bag and sloppily sat back down on your chair, trying to process everything your teacher said. as you looked out the window next to you, you could see everyone happily going outside of their classrooms. hell, you even saw lumine go out of her classroom!
you looked at the blonde helplessly as she could only mouth out a small “sorry” before going out with her twin brother.
you sighed,
‘how will i talk to her now..?’
when your section’s classes finally ended, almost everyone has left already. you didn’t really have much friends in your section which makes going home all the more lonelier. and to top it all off; yae miko has definitely left the campus already.
“this is it. i will never get a chance like this again..” you dramatically mumbled, walking towards the exit. until you heard a small “psst!” come from your right. as you looked to the source of the noise, you saw-
“yae miko-!?” you whisper-shouted, completely shocked that the pink haired girl was still in campus- wait no, you’re more shocked that she was staying for YOU! you! the naïve, dense girl that could only hopelessly stare at the ground whenever you and her made eye contact!
yae miko chuckled at how you reacted, then made a hand sign to go closer to her. you looked around a bit, making sure there were no cameras, and hesitantly made your way towards the pink haired girl. she lead you to the back of the first building, and yae miko finally spoke,
“my, it was kind of unfair on how your schedule got messed up a bit, i was really looking forward to meet you in the hallway again~” you could only blink in response. i mean-HER!? looking forward to meet YOU!? and she mentioned the hallway too, which means she’s pretty aware of your way too frequent meetings!
“hm, it seems you’re a bit too shocked at the moment. is everything alright?”
“y-yeah! everything’s... ok! ehehe...” you could spit out a few words, making it very obvious that you were nervous to be next to the pink haired girl. of course, as sly as yae miko is, she instantly took this to her advantage.
she chuckled, “you’re so cute when you’re nervous, do you know that?” you were already feeling so embarrassed.
“to be honest, you look cute all the time~” oh my god.
“i always wanted you to make a move on me whenever we passed by each other, but oh well-”
“really!?” you cut her off, then immediately apologizing for how embarrassing that was. yae miko laughed at your actions, making your cheeks turn redder than they already are.
“yes, really. you always interested me, y/n. i’ve heard a lot about you from that lumine in my section and you seemed like a nice person. if i have to put what i feel in a simple way..”
she suddenly went closer and closer to you, to the point where you could feel each other’s breath. yae miko’s cheeks were a light pink, much more lighter than whatever you have spread across your cheeks. the shorter girl suddenly placed her head right where your ear was, and whispered..
“you’re definitely my type.”
your brain went mush. it’s like you’ve lost your mind. yae miko pulled away with a smirk on her face, and she walked off like nothing happened, leaving you alone. your heartbeat suddenly went faster, and it felt like you were burning because of how hot your cheeks were.
“oh and, by the way!” the shorter girl exclaimed, making you look towards her direction.
“call me!” she continued, and went over to the exit. your heartbeat finally calmed down, and you sighed in relief. as-
wait, did she just say “call me”? what does she mean by that?
you reached over to your pocket and felt a small, pink paper inside it. you brought it out and slowly unfolded the piece, and it read..

you arrived back at the jade chamber at 3 am. you sighed in relief as you weakly walk inside the floating castle. it was dark, with no servant or secretary in sight. ‘perfect,’ you thought. you wouldn’t want anyone to see you like this.

the fatui has caught up to you already. ever since you fled snezhnaya when you were 17 years old, the organization has been trying to catch you.
why?
all because of 6 words.
“why is the tsaritsa our god?”
ever since you said those words when you were 14 years old, your life has changed for the worst. you were kidnapped by the fatui because of the tsaritsa’s orders and have been treated awfully for 3 years until you finally ran. 3 years of chains getting whipped on your back, 3 years of shock “therapy”, 3 years of cruel kicks to your stomach.
it was so unfair.
when you left and headed off to liyue, your life has definitely gotten a lot better, hell--you even managed to pull the tianquan when you turned 21! life was great with ningguang. it felt as if the archons themselves sent her to you, and your lover felt the same.
but.. you decided to not tell her about your past, though. lovers shouldn’t keep things from each other, you know that. but.. you didn’t want the already too-busy tianquan to worry about you. it was the last thing you wanted; to worry ningguang.
not telling your lover was going smoothly, until the fatui finally found out where you are.
you were just going out on a night stroll alone, since ningguang was taking care of some important matters back in the jade chamber. it was a peaceful walk until you saw a masked man blocking your way. you thought nothing of it, and tried walking past, until you heard an all-too familiar voice.
“y/n. we finally found you.” and then you knew. 3 years of pain. you knew exactly who it was.
the fatui.
just when you were about to run, 3 other soldiers cornered you into a dark alley. you tried fighting back with your cryo vision, which was successful! ..it did leave you with a lot of wounds and a huge scar on your back.
now, you’re in the jade chamber, trying to stay as quiet as possible as to not awaken anyone; you don’t want anyone to see you. not in this shape. your breath was heavy when you finally reached the infirmary, thanking the archons that no one was there. you sat down on one of the hospital beds and began patching yourself up.
‘what’ll i say to ningguang when she sees me like this?’ you came up with a million excuses when this question went in your head, like “i tripped!” or “i ran into a few hilichurls on the way back.”
“y/n? what happened to you?”
oh no.
your head snapped as you looked at ningguang, her face full of worry. the blonde rushed over to you, checking every single wound you received from the incident. she saw the big wound on your back and audibly gasped, immediately getting the necessary treatment.
“ningguang, it’s ok! i-”
“shh.” she cut you off. you fell silent.
after a few winces, the treatment was done. she settles down beside you and uses her left hand to hold your waist.
“love, please. tell me what happened. in full detail.” she started as she softly caresses your cheek with her right hand. your lover was always so gentle to you--the way she looks at you, the way she holds you, it was all too much.
you broke down crying, throwing yourself in ningguang’s arms. you buried your face on the crook of her neck, blurting out a small “they found me” in between sniffles. obviously, this wasn’t quite specific for your lover to understand, but she held you anyway. whispering soft “i love you”s and “it’s alright”s.
when you finally calmed down, your lover wiped away your tears and asked you to explain what happened. with a few sniffles and breaths, you explained everything to her. including from when you were treated badly and how they found you after fleeing when you were 17. all this information was a lot to carry for ningguang--i mean, she also felt like crying--but she kept her composure. listening to you attentively and making sure to reassure you every time you paused your ramble for a moment.
“oh love, why didn’t you tell me sooner?” ningguang whispered, holding you close to her. you replied that you didn’t want to burden her and make her worry since she’s already so busy.
your lover cupped your cheeks and gave you a soft, gentle kiss and told you to rest in her bedroom and she’ll join much later because of work. you did as told after saying your good night’s.
the tianquan went back to her office and sat down on her chair. she looked at the multitude of paperwork that she has finished already and sighed.
ningguang took a piece of paper and wrote the words “conduct a search for the fatui around all of liyue. send our most powerful millelith group.” she hanged this piece of paper on one of her secretary’s task board and sat back down on her chair.
“i’ll protect you, my y/n...” she mumbled under her breath.
“no matter how long it takes.”

it was finally ganyu’s 30-minute break from work. usually, she would take a short nap somewhere far away from the busy city, but she wanted to surprise you! so, the blue haired adeptus decided to visit your house without telling you. as she slowly approached your home, a strange figure glanced at her from the side.
she was curious to what that was, and started walking towards the direction of the shadow. as she readied her vision and bow, she peeked through the wall, only to see nothing. she was relieved-
“ACK-!”
a loud thump rang as ganyu fell to the ground. she felt a warm, wet thing on her face which freaked her out a lot. as she opened her eyes to find what exactly pushed her down, she heard your voice.
“bones! ganyu!”
you yelled, quickly running towards your lover and.. a dog?
“oh my archons, ganyu! are you alright? what are you doing here?” you asked her millions of questions as you helped the adeptus stand back up. “i-i’m fine! just startled.. and,” she paused, looking over to the dog with black fur, “is that your dog?”
“ah, yes he is! his name is bones.. he must’ve been the one who tackled you to the ground, huh?” you said, carrying the not-so innocent dog tenderly. ganyu sighed before fixing her dress and catching her breath.
you took notice of the visibly tired adeptus, so you offered her to rest in your home, which she accepted gratefully. you gave her a soft towel to clean herself up.
“is it your break?” you asked, in to which the adeptus replied with a nod.
“i didn’t know you had a dog.” ganyu continued, glancing at the dog who was looking at her, wagging his tail. “oh! yeah. i only got bones like, a few days ago and i couldn’t find the time to tell you!” you replied, walking towards the blue hair’s direction and sitting down beside her.
“hmph, that dog almost gave me a heart attack.. honestly--how the heck did that small, innocent looking creature tackle me so effortlessly!?” the adeptus ranted, making you laugh.
“bones is just a really energetic dog, excuse him.” you said in between chuckles, and hearing his name made bones even more excited. you carried him into your arms and he started wagging his tail violently happily. ganyu chuckled at the dog’s enthusiasm, her gaze soft as she looked at both you and the dog.
a comfortable silence filled the room, until..
“you’re so pretty, y/n..” your lover suddenly blurted out, making your cheeks turn red. as ganyu finally processed what she said, and was ready to apologize, you cut her off with a soft kiss on the cheek. and-
..
oh no you killed her.
ganyu turned into all shades of pink, her brain felt like mush as you pulled away. you chuckled as you saw your lover’s face. you looked at her with eyes full of love--ah, she adored the way you looked at her--and with a soft smile.
“you’re beautiful, ganyu,” you said, letting go of the dog and cupping ganyu’s cheeks, “i love you-..”
“..so,” you kissed her nose;
“so,” you kissed her forehead;
“so much.” and you finally kissed her lips. her soft lips. ganyu cupped your hands that were on her cheeks as she tenderly kissed back, melting into your touch.
she just completely forgot about her work, all she was focusing on was you. her beautiful, beautiful lover.
