also… i’m sorry for the absence, again! truthfully i have been working on an oc that fits into ‘the boys’ universe, while writing with someone who has boosted my motivation/inspiration to a place i didn’t think it would reach in awhile. i’m thinking about making a blog for this character of mine soon, and i’m a little nervous. i don’t normally write ocs, or female muses, so this has been a ride for me in general. 🖤

Hooking up with a fellow guest at a house party- hosted by another he also barely knows- is something Josh had mostly kept in his past. Upon arrival, he had no intention of sleeping with anyone. His therapist encouraged him to socialize, and well, that was what he was doing, but then... she captured his full attention.

Is he really doing this? Leading Dessie to an unoccupied room like some desperately horny college student, away from the commotion and tomfoolery he used to get himself into?

It sure seems like it. And it doesn’t help that she’s giving off the vibe that she’s into it (into him?).

He’s about to say something when she boldly shuts and locks the door, provocative energy stealing his breath and filling the once hollow alcove. Her simper pushes his heart into overdrive and coaxes his face to burn with an excitement he hadn’t experienced in quite some time. If she wouldn’t have broken the ice, he would still be frozen in it.

"Actually,” Josh begins, leaning forward and smacking a palm above Dessie’s head. “I just wanted to talk.” A long, heavy pause almost takes the place of her natural sensuality, his lower half suddenly screaming; aching to be pressed against hers.  

“Talk you out of those clothes.”

Standing outside like lumps, the blonde girl and the brunette boy waited for the bell to ring, and further instruction from their teacher (an opening to a bad joke). 

Time passed a tad too slowly, and when Josh was bored or believed something was inherently useless (like this fire drill, for instance), he would come up with scenarios in his head that seemed... amusing to him. Despite Jenna’s clear distaste for the eldest Washington, he persisted in his pastime.

He nudged her side, gently. Half smirk adhered to his lips, permanently. "Hey, hey, Laurens... Would you come to my funeral?" Knowing damn well she probably caused it in the first place.

Of all the places to be seeing them, it had to be in the middle of a very public, very busy sidewalk. Josh blinked a few times- hard- trying to force their images to blur into an eventual vanishing. 

He thought, this late in the game, he had the formula solved. Close, but not even Einstein could smoke this particular cigar. 

“Can’t you at least wait until I’m back at my apartment?” he grumbled past gritted teeth, hoping it wouldn’t be obvious to the passersby that he was a fucking looney toon. 

More palpable but failed attempts at making them disintegrate were quickly set in motion, like the twelve step programs he was all too familiar with. He knew they weren’t real (right?); however, their animosity and hunger for violently spilled blood made his stomach curl in on itself. His intestines were a large, obstructive fist, and he could feel its knuckles scrape against his rib cage.

If only his own flesh was enough.

Too late, Josh realized, as he noticed someone brazenly stop dead in their tracks. Every goddamned muscle in his body tensed, thoughts shifted to wondering who (or what) he was supposed to focus on now. Their sinister smiles twisted into sickeningly sweet scowls, and he shook his head (rattled his brain around) before turning it to meet the stranger’s bewilderment.

"H-how long have you been standing there?" he swallowed, despite the question’s inaneness. Of course it hadn’t been long, but... no harm, no foul in playing dumb, right?
