to everyone writing secondary canon characters / characters from media with small or no fandom: i see you, you’re wonderful and i love you.
you’re probably feeling like your blog suffers from middle child syndrome: roleplay edition, and you’re not wrong.
you don’t get the “perks“ of writing a canon muse because virtually no one recognises your muse, no one flocks to you with ship and plot ideas, but neither you get the praise and love for ocs even though you too have to come up with most information and history for your muse because there’s so little of it in its source material.
but! you’re giving a voice and exploring a character that would be ignored otherwise and there’s something very magical about that.
i can assure you someone out there came across the fandom you write for or gave that show/book/movie a try and when the character came on screen they thought of you, they remembered your muse because you breathe life into it no matter how little screentime or lines they had in canon.
don’t give up, you’re doing amazing.
