what would violet dress up as for halloween?
Hi anon! I absolutely love this question, thanks for asking! In the show, Violet doesn't dress up on Halloween day, but I still think it's fun to make up costumes she might've worn!
In episode four, Halloween: Part 1, Ben mentions that Violet always "had to be scary" on Halloween. With that in mind, most of these are going to be more traditionally scary Halloween costumes.
Ginger Fitzgerald from Ginger Snaps (2000):
I love this costume idea for Violet, especially because of how similar their styles already are. Like, I'm sure Violet could easily put together a Ginger-esque outfit with just the clothes she already owns!
Since Ben said she "had to be scary" on Halloween, Violet would probably rather recreate Ginger's werewolf look from the third act, complete with werewolf makeup, fangs, claw-like long nails, scars, fake blood, fur, and white streaks in her hair.
For the outfit portion, she would need bohemian or whimsigoth-style clothes in a purple, black, or green color palette, a flowy skirt, combat boots, and a bird skull necklace.
Courtney Love (and Kurt Cobain):
This isn't a very scary costume, but I still think Violet may consider wearing it. Like I said with Ginger, Violet's style is already pretty similar to Courtney's, so I don't think it would be that difficult for her to recreate one of her outfits!
For this look, Violet would need a slip dress, ripped stockings or tights, messy makeup, ballet flats or combat boots, and any extra little accessories, like a tiara or cigarette.
To make it a little more recognizable, Tate could dress up as Kurt and make it a couple's costume... <3
Ok... here me out for this one lol. For some reason in my head, I think Violet would be surprisingly good at costume makeup. I think it's just because Violet seems to like "scary" Halloween costumes, and those typically take a bit more effort.
Violet's creativity and love for insects like butterflies and beetles (seen on her bedroom walls) also made me think that a cool, grimy bug costume could be fitting for her!
For this costume, Violet might need layers of clothing with sheer fabrics, a slip dress, shimmery makeup, wings, tights, and maybe antennas, too!
Any traditional Halloween costumes:
I can definitely imagine Violet wearing a classic, scary Halloween costume, like a witch, werewolf, zombie, or vampire.

This costume was inspired by Violet's room decor, with her gumball machine full of baby doll limbs and random doll heads.
For this costume, Violet would need a babydoll dress, tights, boots or flats, and creepy, vintage doll makeup.
