Maroon had left Lindblum in search of his guardian Qu, insisting that they take him back to Daguerreo to look through some texts regarding herbs. It didn’t take much in the matter of convincing, and now Quish was wandering the halls in search of something new since the last visit. This was how Maroon came to be a bit lost in the corridors, on his own, with nothing but his shoulder satchel, a book about desert herbs and flowers, and a small tray of muffins, some with blueberry, and some with apple cinnamon, that he’d brought specifically to share with the residents of this lovely library.Â
He couldn’t deny that he was a little frustrated at being left alone, and then lost, but he was far more engrossed in reading the book while he wandered, and presumably made his case of misdirection even worse, while balancing the tray expertly in his other hand. It was only after a little while that he heard any sound at all, small taps, it would seem, once he lifted his head out of the book. Following the sound, he finally came upon the person in question…
“Oh…” Maroon blinked in surprise. A Tonberry! He’d always wanted to meet one, but Quish hadn’t let him. “Why, hello!” Maroon smiled, bright and warm, as he crouched down, kneeling on one knee. “Care for a muffin?” He offered, extending the arm with the tray towards the Tonberry. The muffins were still warm, if only because he’d used some magic intermittently to heat the tray.
📗  It was half expected for this human to run at the sight of him, as most others did given that tonberry kind were not well received. Perhaps the lack of a knife made him appear less threatening- for a book was much better to tote around after all. Regardless, Ghost’s tail wagged happily that there was a patron of the library pleased in his home.
  His nose did not betray him when this person offered a muffin. There may have been a tad saliva dripping from the amphibian’s mouth, but Ghost accepted the gift with a gwee.
  As quickly as the tonberry took the fluffy pastry, he was all but inhaling it’s sugary delight. Innocent eyes never blinking, the blueberry muffin was halfway eaten (wrapper included) before a book was set down upon the ground. Ghost raised another hand towards the muffin tray, another excited plea for another.
