Love was something so delicate for the bar owner. Now he didn’t exactly have a great dating history. His last relationship turned out to be hot mess of four years that he wouldn’t dare to speak about. But it did taught him him a few things which was to cherish the moments with your loved one while it lasted. The bar owner had no family and was paying off his uncles debt by running this bar, but did he make his problems known? Of course not. He always flashed a smile and as soon as Aly stepped into his bar, you can say in that very moment his own worries we’re forgotten. Fate had decided to give him a path he couldn’t easily escape from, and maybe this was cliche to say, but Aly managed to help him keep going. Of course he had never told her that since the two continued to keep some secrets to themselves. But will they ever reveal to each other of what they have gone through? Allow themselves to tear their walls down, that they spent all these years building. Only time can tell. “Just be careful and don’t go on a mission alone. Bring your men with you.” he said with a soft glare. He meant it. There was no reason for Aly having to go against her enemies alone.
He would give do anything to protect Aly, but he knew that when it comes to the social class of justice Jaemin was considered nothing but a useless civilian that could probably get easily stepped on. But for some reason he didn’t care he was willing to protect her, tend her wounds when he had nothing. Maybe it’s because his mother had raised him to be so genuine. There was unspoken feelings that he had for Aly. But yet he had kept his feelings to himself, not because he didn’t think Aly liked him. He knew there was something going on between them, that tension that was so hard to ignore. But there was nothing that Jaemin could give. And so ever he continued to tend her wounds making sure each of her cuts were clean placing the hydrogen peroxide bottle down reaching for the ointment. Gently dabbing each wound with the ointment. “Luckily you don’t need stitches but try to put the ointment on your wounds for a couple nights alright? ..” And just know that Jaemin will text Aly to remind her.
“I mean do I have to have a reason?” he asked as he gently raised her leg a bit closer towards him as he dabbed his fingertip against the wound. “I enjoy spending time with you. Talking to you, plus..” he smiled looking up.
“I’m actually very curious if you can easily win against me when it comes to arcade games. Something tells you might suck at it.” he teased.
alessandra had her fair share of experience when it came to partners but her expertise when it came to lovers seemed to fall short. there was only one person she gave her entire heart to & it was destined to fail from the start. she knew of the dangers of falling in love but, when you're in that position, the consequences didn't seem important. what mattered the most was the memories created & the love shared which was strong. so strong that there were days that she still missed him but there was not much she could do. she couldn't change what happened even if she wished she could. there were days where she wondered if it would have lasted & felt as epic as it had if it weren't for the fact that they led dangerous lives. that's all it was — a what if in the scheme of life. of course, alessandra didn't mind thinking of the what if but, if fate were on her side, none of it would feel like a sick joke to her. as if some higher power was having fun messing up the story of her life. jaemin had felt like one of those sick jokes because she did find herself noticing she harbored feelings for him & she hated it. not because she didn't want to; she did. she just didn't want anyone else to die because of her. “ because a woman can't fend for herself ? i need big strong men to come & protect me ? ” there was a hint of humor in her tone to indicate she wasn't exactly serious. alessandra could handle her own & she stood by that.
of course, she had noticed the tension between them. the kind of tension that you would see between two people in a show & you're dying for them to make the first move but there's too many obstacles. that was the problem — there were too many obstacles that kept alessandra from making any kind of move. she was a confident woman that held her own & she knew that's what made her desirable but she was a bit different around jaemin. confident but more tamed than the usual spitball of fire that she was. he could see through her bullshit & she could see right through his. it also helped that he was definitely easy on the eyes & she would be lying if she said she didn't find him attractive. that was a plus on top of how respectful, sweet & caring he was to her. she had inhaled a bit sharply when she had felt him begin to place the ointment onto her wounds. they might have been clean but it didn't mean they still didn't hurt. “ yes, dad, i will. is there anything else you need to scold me about ? ” there was a slight smile on her features as she spoke.
alessandra could feel her face become a bit hot at the slight realization that his words were of the flirting nature. this meant that her cheeks were probably a light tinge of pink & she couldn't hide her smile as easily as she could have before. “ no, you don't need a reason. i was just wondering if there was one. ” this was different — her voice was a bit softer than usual & she was a bit more playful. he seemed to bring out a much calmer yet brighter side to her than the weight of her job had. hazel eyes had rolled in a playful manner at his words & she had let out a scoff of a laugh. “ oh ? i'll have you know i'm basically a professional at skee ball so get ready. i'm going to kick your ass at any arcade game. ”
