what society needs to understand is that friendship and romance are not ranks, tiers, or levels. they are not above or below each other. romance is not a promotion. friendship is not a demotion. romance is not âmore thanâ being friends with someone. friendship and romance are concepts that exist on equal terms, side by side. sometimes they happen to coincide. other times they never intersect at all. how relationships are classified is up to the individuals involved but like?? neither is inherently more or less valuable is the thing
Art is something you choose to make⊠itâs a bringing together of⊠of everything around you into something that makes you more human, more khepri, whatever. More of a person.
China Miéville, Perdido Street Station (via wordsnquotes)
I donât know when weâll see each other again or what the world will be like when we do. We may both have seen many horrible things. But I will think of you every time I need to be reminded that there is beauty and goodness in the world.
Arthur Golden, Memoirs of a Geisha (via wordsnquotes)
The future is a concept, it doesnât exist. There is no such thing as tomorrow. There never will be, because time is always now. Thatâs one of the things we discover when we stop talking to ourselves and stop thinking. We find there is only present, only an eternal now.
Alan Watts (via fyp-philosophy)
âŠFind the right distance between people. Too close, and they overwhelm you, too far and they abandon you.
Hanif Kureishi, Intimacy (via wordsnquotes)
I did not always think he was right nor did he always think I was right but we were each the person the other trusted.
Joan Didion, The Year of Magical Thinking (via wordsnquotes)
Different people remember things differently, and youâll not get any two people to remember anything the same, whether they were there or not.
Neil Gaiman, The Ocean at the End of the Lane (via wordsnquotes)
The hastag says â would you marry a girl who canât cookâ and this girl slayed
Note to self: stop wasting your time. No matter if it is on people you don't care for, a job you don't really like, or an event you don't want to go to - stop wasting your time and don't go for it. You're not obliged to do anything you don't want to do and the more you feed in to the things you don't care for, the more you show no care for yourself.
I mean, sometimes remembering can really destroy you.
Benjamin Alire Såenz, He Forgot to Say Goodbye (via wordsnquotes)
I crave the deepest connections with others, but I just donât trust anyone to let them in.
motsdeceour (via wnq-writers)
Most people need love and acceptance a lot more than they need advice.
Bob Goff, Love Does (via wordsnquotes)
It is okay to be at a place of struggle. Struggle is just another word for growth. Even the most evolved beings find themselves in a place of struggle now and then. In fact, struggle is a sure sign to them that they are expanding; it is their indication of real and important progress. The only one who doesnât struggle is the one who doesnât grow. So if you are struggling right now, see it as a terrific sign â and celebrate your struggle.
Neale Donald Walsch (via wordsnquotes)
