We filmed the the dojo scene on our 3rd day. @zachlipovsky and I had worked with Sadie in auditions and rehearsals, so we knew what she could do. But we were still nervous. It was only this 16-year-old’s third day on a set *ever*. She had to pull off an action sequence filled with intricate choreography, and then go deep into one of the most emotional scenes in the movie; to risk being raw, vulnerable.

Under the lights, with dozens of crew members watching, would she be able to do it?

She nailed the scene and exceeded our expectations. Her fight work was perfect and intense with emotion. And then the emotional scene: Watching Sadie reveal Kim’s insecurities and cry real tears brought tears to our eyes too, in take after take. This first-timer girl turned in a star performance.     ( x )

i’m considering just deleting this blog because a certain someone in this fandom has not only been harassing me on my roleplay blog, but my personal twitter as well, and i’m getting tired of it and also it’s starting to go from being annoying to being unnerving.

like, i come here to write and make gifs. that’s it. and if people spout things that bother me, like enraged rants that border on homophobia, i block them for my own comfort. literally, that’s the whole reason. and yet somehow i’m an awful person because i have a conflicting opinion and also want to feel safe and happy on my own blogs.

so I've seen the movie already and I have it downloaded but I will NOT be posting any gifs of it until after this weekend so that everyone will have had an opportunity to see the movie with fresh eyes and a clear mind. ❤️

I watched Disney Channel’s Instagram live feed from the Kim Possible premiere last night and practically every kid under 15 that they interviewed admitted to never seeing the original Kim Possible cartoon. But they all said that they’re “excited to be introduced to it!!” – and that is why I think we should all be happy that this live-action movie is happening. There are a lot of kids out there who have never seen or heard of KP apparently (even current Disney Channel actors!), and this movie is going to bring them into the universe in a new/exciting way that they can relate to in this day and age. I think that’s pretty cool.

also if anyone is still worried about the movie, I highly recommend you watch this interview; it’s very insightful and it’s clear to see that Christy has such deep faith in this movie and in Sadie’s capabilities as an actress playing Kim

also they made the movie live action and not animated 1. because they wanted to and 2. because animation is fucking expensive as hell, takes a lot of time, and live action is more cost-effective in the long run and is also something we haven’t seen with kim possible and thus opens up some new opportunities for storytelling and creativity

y'know it's really sad to see how much the cast (and directors) of the live action movie clearly adore the original series and how they want to do it justice (and most likely will) with this movie and yet there are still grown adults leaving hate comments on Sadie's Instagram on posts that aren't even related to the movie.

Like however bad this movie may or may not be, it's not going to come close to some of the behavior I've seen over the last several months. :/

hey dear! unfortunately I don’t use any sharpening actions on my gifs, I just luck out with resizing being on my side. I’ve tried using actions in the past and could never get them to work properly/gave up out of frustration. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help! <3

gifmaking’s been on hold for the past few days due to a busy work schedule/me being sick (I can eat BRAT diet foods rn so that’s a plus) but I do want to make a post here and now to be perfectly clear about the future of this blog and the coming premiere of the live action movie:

if it wasn’t apparent before, we’re pro-live action around here. meaning, while I do think legitimate criticism and concerns about the movie is fine (believe me, there’s some stuff I’m not 100% sold on and a little skeptical about), I’m not going to tolerate blindly hating it for existing. it’s a disney channel original movie, so yeah, it’s gonna look like a spy kids movie and it’s gonna be campy and cheesy and that’s just the fact of the matter. and it’s fine if you don’t like it, but literally all I’m asking is that you don’t leave your comments about how the movie’s gonna flop and be a disgrace to the original because Ron’s hair isn’t straight or because Sadie looks "twelve” (have any of you..... ever seen what a teenager looks like..... what.....) on my gifsets. make your own separate posts, I don’t care, but don’t leave it on mine, thank you.
