Design 3 | Project1 : Copycats
1-3 The copy
- using “the architect code” and “the copier” to design the studio for architect.
- creating own specific brief based on the architect code.
-Renzo Piano’s design concepts are much concern and focus on things that are made piece by piece which are structural system and element and also joints, surrounding, transparency and energy efficient green. So the program that he is interested in is workshop, that’s why his studio called Renzo Piano Building Workshop.
-The studio is located in Clement Clerk Moore Park in New York City, New York, USA because he already had his studio in Genoa and Paris and he has so many projects in USA. So I think it’s good if he has another studio in USA.
-I designed the studio based on “the code”. The studio is separated into 2 parts; exhibition hall or testing room (public zone) and office or studio part (private zone). The exterior is made by glass with his own structure. So this provides view and allows light to assess. The interior is designed like slope with huge step on the 2nd floor. the programs in the building are organised by his design process. There is a garden placed in a middle of the studio for providing light and being used as wall to seperate the pubic zone and private zone.
