A Psychological Horror Themed Visual Novel featuring sequential nonlinear exploration as a game play mechanic.
Raven Falls is about a man named Eric and his girlfriend Veronica. Eric plans a trip hoping to propose to his girlfriend. On the day of the trip, he’s driving down the road with his girlfriend and two best friends. A flash of light appears and he wakes up in the middle of a forest. When he finally makes his way back to town, he discovers the town in ruins. He searches the ruins of the town hoping to find clues and searches for Veronica. The idea is to create what’s called a Visual Novel. If you’re new to the idea it’s basically a computer game where you go through an interactive story. This is a passion project and we need your help to take the next step. This game is going to be available for free for everyone to enjoy upon release.
Our current goal is $5k. About 10% goes towards fees for kickstarter. $500 is going towards our composer so he can create a completely original soundtrack for the game. Everything else is going directly to artwork. As the head of the project I’m not seeking compensation, neither is our programmer. Any excess funds that this project makes will be dumped into expanding the game. If we exceed $5k it’s going to allow us to expand the story by creating additional scenes and expanding game play mechanics. What makes this project unique? This game when funded will be available for PC, Mac, and Linux made with Ren'Py. All of us have a wide background in voice acting and will provide a fully English voiced cast for this game. You’re also getting a completely original soundtrack. These are all things that other projects require a goal of $20-60k to achieve. The reason for this once again is because this is a passion project.
