I started blogging a long time ago. 1999 to be exact. Back then, blogging was prehistoric social media. Well... the site I used was very social. I still have all my wonderful best friends from the place.
I don't think too many people know the site. Or, maybe you do.
This is what it looked like in 1999
Open Diary is still around as a paid site, and I still have a diary there thanks to a lifetime membership, but... I go there, open a page, and... nothing. It's not "my" Open Diary.
I know, I know. I know I sound like a fucking old fart saying change=bad.
But, I'm "middle aged" now. Well, the life expectancy is only 77 in the US (It dropped in 2020 and 2021 due to the plague. The biggest two-year decline in life expectancy since 1921-1923), so what do you consider the age of 51 to be?
I don't even know how it works. is 40 the new 30, or is 70 the new 50? Who makes the rules? Do you know what you 're doing?
See? now I've opened the door and stepped in to the fucking mess of my mind and can't find the light switch.
