Chamomile: awww! I’m grateful that this blog exists too (lol). My current favorite type of au’s are murder mystery au’s because of the Rabbit Doubt writing group I’m in so like, expect so many of those coming up soon. I’m also really digging superhero au’s.

M: I’m a fan of the whole “kidnapping / assassin / mob / killer” sort of a trope for some reason - it’s loads of fun to try and mess with original tropes and make them ridiculous, funny, modern, etc.!

Jynn: My fave AUs are ones that incorporate real life twists on typical AUs, like including people with disabilities.

@tomorraw asked: How many of you guys are there? Do certain people answer in certain genre? Or does everyone write what they are given? How did you guys meet? (Btw, this is one of my favorite idea blogs. They are so many different views on different ideas and so many genres.)

Chamomile: Currently there’s four of us! I know admin m and admin jynn from a loooong while back – like two years back. Admin jynn and I go back to our homestuck roots (love her for that) and we’ve stuck together ever since. We all just kind of write whatever floats our boats! M: I met both Jynn and Chamomile through working on the Night Unvaled, which is a Night Vale Fancast that we wrote and produced. We’ve been friends ever since!! As for the certain genre thing, I can’t really say that we all write solely one genre, but we all certainly have our specialties!! Jynn: We have a posting schedule for who posts what when, but when it comes lists we all just take what interests us. Chamomile and I met more than two years back… in a Homestuck role play. Shortly after, we met M in a podcast project we were all working on and we’ve all be friends since!

Anon asked: what are some of your favorite tropes?

Chamomile: does “I love the way that you understand me and make me feel like I’m the only person in the world when you pay attention to me” count as a troupe? Like an OTP troupe? Bc that’s my ultimate favorite.

M: My favorite trope is messing with tropes. Best thing.

Amahara’s Floral Trove – Grandparents and their grandchildren almost always have a special, unbreakable bond, and Characters A and B are no exceptions. Character A is a young adult working in a greenhouse and nursery that belongs to Character B, Character A’s grandparent. Character B has taken care of Character A ever since they were in diapers, affectionately calling Character A their “flower child”. Thanks to Character B, Character A has grown up surrounded by petals, leaves, and roots. To staff members of the greenhouse and nursery, Character’s A and B seems to have their own language and a set of secret codes, otherwise known as puns and idioms about plants.

Persistence of the Heart – Characters A and B have been best friends for as long as they can remember, one never seen without the other close behind. As years pass, Character A starts seeing Character B as more than their best friend, and it’s not too long before Character A’s feeling develop into love and they are reduced to constantly expelling flowers from their lungs. Character A harbors their feelings in secret, deciding to not tell Character B for the sake of their friendship. After enduring years of the Hanahaki disease alone, Character A finally decides to get the flowers surgically removed, and as a result, their feelings for Character B. Feeling relieved, Character A goes back to their normal life with Character B as “just friends”. However, weeks after their surgery, Character A starts feeling the persistent need to cough. Scared, Character A returns to the hospital they had their surgery in to find out what’s wrong. An x-ray reveals Character A’s lungs are filled with flowers again, flowers that are identical to the ones removed in the surgery.

Inject Them, Not Me – As business partners and longtime friends, Character A and B run a pretty successful tattoo parlor, if they do say themselves. Their shop has acquired quite the amount of customers over the years, the majority coming back for more. Character B notices that after years of competition and collaboration with Character A, they have never given each other a tattoo. Wanting to change that, Character B plans to give a tattoo to Character A for their upcoming birthday, working on it for days on end. The design is unique, the symbolism is personal, and the colors are beautiful. However, as Character B tells Character A about their gift, Character A flinches and stiffly shakes their head. Upset, Character B asks if it’s because Character A doesn’t trust them. Character A denies this vehemently, and it’s not too long after that Character B discovers something they’ve never known about their friend: Character A has mild trypanophobia. Giving injections to others is no problem, but when it’s them getting injected, Character A freaks out.
