Tis the season to be a complete pig lol

As we all know the month of December is usually full of events where there are endless tables of delicious food involved.

Here are a few shots of what I’ve indulged in this month.

First up was a night out with the girls were we ate some amazing southern styled cat fish po boys, fried chicken, fries & cheese and mac. Of course with some new orleans lemonade and a beer.

The next night my bf and I threw a dinner party for his mum and yia yia’s birthday. We served up a seafood platter for entree, a roasted pork belly with a red wine blueberry sauce served with lentils du pois, pumpkin puree and a side salad. For dessert (my area) I made a pavlova torte that was filled with creme patisserie topped with cream and fruit. For my first pav I think I did an awesome job. It was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by all. It was also the first time my bf really tried red wine, lets just say he has a new obsession.

Now onto the xmas dishes I've popped up. This year xmas lunch was held at my mums, family from interstate even visited. With combined efforts we dished up a delicious pork belly, slow cooked lamb shoulder, roast chicken, roast turkey, cheesy cauliflower, scalloped potatoes, lots of vegies and lastly a bevy of desserts consisting of a trifle, chocolate lasagna, chocolate mousse cake & carrot cake times 2 (with nuts and no nuts) and a refreshing fruit platter.

You could pretty much say this month has been an indulgent one.

Ohh I forgot to mention that I also received an amazing gift from my bf which included all my favourite sweets from the bakeries I love.

What happens when my boyfriend and I are bored at home… we combine our skills and make delicious doughnuts.

1st batch are lemon custard filled doughnuts dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with toasted almonds.

2nd batch are lemon custard filled doughnuts sprinkled with icing sugar.

Gotta love having a bf thats a chef

Zeppole (italian fried donuts)

My first time at making these babies and I was very pleased with myself.

Although zeppole are usually filled with custard or ricotta, I didn't add any as the batch I made was rather small and let's just face it, I was too lazy too make custard. With some icing sugar dusted on top they were just as delicous.

Def another treat I'll be making again
