Angela & Gamora by Rachel & Terry Dodson
“Yeaah yeah, we’re gonna get to business. I was actually thinking you might be the perfect woman to help out with a little problem us other Guardians are having. I mean I figured we should lay low for awhile but we’re not really low profile people, y’know? So… How about we get the ol’ group back together and start planning a real heist?”
Rocket wasn’t going to lay out his plans in public but he knew Angela would be better than anyone he knew at getting the Guardians reunited with him. She wasn’t as well known on the star ways, so she’d make a good ally right about now.
"Ehh I guess I could help, depends on what you want us to all get together for?" In all honesty she had nothing better to do, but she didn't want to come off that way. Angela leaned against the counter as she looked at Rocket, a grin on her lips after hearing how she was apparently perfect for the job. She had to wonder what could be needed to bring everyone together again after all this time.
Before she could let Rocket answer her first question, she went on to say, "We can discuss this in a more private spot if you need, but I mean straight to business, no getting side tracked on me." Though she knew Rocket well enough to know he could be serious when it called for.
She paid no mind to his actions, what it all came down to was, it had nothing to do with her. It was already fair enough she could stick around for the ride. “Ahh ya don’t say,” was all she could comment about his future plans. The quadrants made her a bit curious, but not enough to really care to ask more about it.
His last comment did strike her as a bit odd. Was this not him being “normal” now she wandered. Her face remained cool though as she tried not to pay much attention to it. She wasn’t by any means worried, just curious about it.
“……………………..“
Blackjack had packed up and hefted his bag over his shouler at this point, but turned and watched the lady with a curious eye. Her words had left him at an awkward impasse. He could just… leave. Pretend he wasn’t interested in what she had to say any more. But, that’d be a lie. He was mostly no longer interested, but. With an armor and weapon like that, he kinda wanted a good read on what she was thinking right now.
“What? Why’re ya still lookin’ at me funny?!“
Angela must not have hid her emotions well enough, making her a bit off guard. Seeing at BlackJack avoided her questions, she figured she would do the same, and with that she stood up and walked over to him.
"What are we waiting for, lets get going I can't wait to see how this all plans out." She gave him a cocky grin as she looked at him waiting for a reply.
At the very least she figured she'd see how things went and enjoy the ride while she was on it.
Rocket walked into the building after her, and she wasn’t exactly hard to spot in a crowd. He clambered up on the seat beside her.
“S’been awhile huh? So whatddya say to going for a little rendezvous off in the fancy digs of Xandar?”
He was, as usual only joking because he could tell she was in one of her more foul moods. He didn’t even know why she put up with himself and the other Guardians but one thing was for sure. He was glad she was on their side.
Before she could get a chance to really reply he ordered a drink and slouched in his chair.
She raised a brow and gave him a dour look as his comment. Paying mind to it, she crossed her legs and leaned over to him.
"Are we going to get down to business before you get drunk or am I going to have to wait till you make a fool of us?" Half cracking at what happened last time, and not wanting to waste any time either. Her style was more waiting till after everything was done for any types of relaxing.
Her fingered tapped against the counter as she stared at him, hoping his reply would be to her liking. It wasn't that she hated him or anything, but how he went about things wasn't something she could easily get used to.
“Don’t worry, I wasn’t plannin’ on screwin’ ya over, just hang tight,” Rocket promised. Before departing the ship he used his communicator to alert his compatriot of his arrival, and soon enough Angela was getting a hologram screen popping up of Rocket’s appearance.
“Yo Angela~ Meet me at the bar here… the one we went to last time, where I got kinda drunk and threw up under the table and blamed it on that astronaut dog before we all got kicked out? Yeah I know you’re on Knowhere, so I’ll see you in five.”
Rocket didn’t even wait for a reply, before he cut off his own call and headed off the shift making his way straight to that bar. He didn’t want to give her the chance to even think about declining on meeting up. He figured it was better to meet up with ONE guardian than just stick his neck out on the cosmos alone.
The huntress leaned against a building with her arms folded. Occasionally someone would walk by and gawk at her, no doubt because of her outfit. They'd be greeted by a sinister look, making them quickly turn their head elsewhere. She was waiting for someone to meet up with her, probably one of the few reasons she would be in Knowhere for anything other than a bounty. Just as she was getting impatient the hologram of the very one she waited for popped up.
A glowering look was etched on her face as Rocket went on about the last time they were here. Before she could even complain to him about being late and picking that same stop the call had ended, leaving her no choice as to where they could met. "That cocky bastard," she mumbled to herself as she headed towards the bar. Luckily for her too it wasn't far off. It wasn't long before she reached the bar and glanced around, not seeing him there she made her way to the front and took a seat on one of the stools.
Blackjack passed over her words of experience, pretending he hadn’t heard them. Rude, and obnoxious; but that’s just how he could be sometimes. Especially when he was avoiding a subject, which as of now, he officially was. The rest of the stuff she wanted to talk about was fine though. He could talk about that.
That stuff was easy.
“Same ‘ere. ‘Cept further out, I know some good quadrants for business… It’ll be back to those, and to ‘normal’.“
That was the ideal outcome, in any case.
She paid no mind to his actions, what it all came down to was, it had nothing to do with her. It was already fair enough she could stick around for the ride. "Ahh ya don't say," was all she could comment about his future plans. The quadrants made her a bit curious, but not enough to really care to ask more about it.
His last comment did strike her as a bit odd. Was this not him being "normal" now she wandered. Her face remained cool though as she tried not to pay much attention to it. She wasn't by any means worried, just curious about it.
He shrugged his small shoulders. She could do whatever she liked as far as he was concerned, he didn’t care. Up to her. As long as she didn’t get in his way, he had no problem with that. Blackjack let that sentiment filter through to his words.
“Ya do whatever ya want darlin’.”
‘Least she knew the stakes involved.
As for her next question, tension shot through his body. Fur shifting and standing slightly on end… until he eased with a sigh. What did he care about telling peope anyway. ‘Specially at this point, he was already here, right?
“I’m lookin’ fer the guy we were just goin’ on about, funny enough.“
He didn’t say for what reason, just kinda left it at that.
Seeing how her tension was obvious, she sighed and leaned back against a wall before speaking. "Well usually when people have to take care of business with others it ends up that way, at least from my experience." Her tone was calm and almost devoid of any emotion. True she did become friends with the guardians, but at the same time it was non of her business. Whether or not she had any intention to help them in trouble was up to how she was feeling when the time came.
She could tell this wasn't going to go anywhere and that he would say as little as possible. Though she wasn't the talkative type, it was probably best to change the subject. The warrior crossed her arms and gave him a smug look. "So after all this is over you got any other plans? I'll probably go back to finding some scum to turn in." Her lips made a small grin at the thought of wrangling up some unsuspecting bounty.
Angela, will you marry me?
Her lips were locked in a slight grin as she listened to him talk about future plans. "Well I hear you about not being space dust, but I’d like to stick around for awhile if you don’t mind. This whole ordeal has caught my interest." She spoke with an appealing tone, not having to really worry about any aftermath or other consiquenses was more than enough reason for her to stick around for awhile.
Not even giving him time to object her sticking around him, the fiery warroir spoke out. "So what’s this unfinished business about?" Him having plans in a place he didn’t want to stick around only made her more curious about her new acquaintance.
He shrugged his small shoulders. She could do whatever she liked as far as he was concerned, he didn’t care. Up to her. As long as she didn’t get in his way, he had no problem with that. Blackjack let that sentiment filter through to his words.

"Good, I like getting my way," Angela said in a rather cocky tone. She had no means to interfere with him, unless the situation put herself in any sort of danger. Using the back of her hand, she pushed her long tresses that ran over her shoulder to lay over her back.
She raised a brow at what she just heard him say. Figuring from the way he was acting she wasn't going to get much more information from him. Though knowing who he was after made the whole situation different. For what reason did he need to find Rocket, and was he a friend of foe to him ran through her mind. Changing her thoughts on it all from excitement to just wanting to know how this would all play out between them. The time she spent with him and the other guardians was enough to keep her concerned for them.
Her eyes widened a bit as she leaned in to listen. Her arms resting on her knees and her long red hair sliding over her shoulders. "That sounds just where I wanna be then." Her tone was somewhat filled with amusement. It was clear her ego was once again taking over her.
"I take it that’s why you’re here too?" She grind as she looked at him. It had been awhile since she came across anything that took interest to her.
“Actually I’ve got some unfinished business tah take care of.”
Blackjack looked elsewhere as he said this, momentarily caught up in his own head. In his own motivations and business, shutting out anything else around him. This closure is just as swift to dissipate, and he soon swivels back around on his whirring robotic hind legs, lenses flaring and focusing on the tall lady again.
“Once that’s over with? I’m outta here.“
He turns and rambles the latter half idly,
“No offense, but I got no interest in being space dust…“
Her lips were locked in a slight grin as she listened to him talk about future plans. "Well I hear you about not being space dust, but I'd like to stick around for awhile if you don't mind.
