every morning i wake up & get my coffee & i recite in my head this excerpt from ‘invitation,’ by mary oliver: “it is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in the broken world.” & i just say it over & over again until it sticks to my mind for the rest of the day. it is a serious thing. i am alive. i am so lucky. this fresh morning i get the chance to live again & again & again
Le pain, c'est un peu notre truc préféré. Quand on voyage, on adore découvrir le pain « local », comme au Maroc par exemple. Bon, évidemment, on aime toujours revenir à la baguette ensuite. • Bread is our favorite thing. When we travel, we always love to discover the “local” bread, like we did in Morocco for instance. Well, obviously, we always like to get back to baguette afterwards. • 📷 @cyril_lignac
In the silent desert, an electric sunrise silhouettes a joshua tree, the namesake plant of Joshua Tree National Park in California. These twisted, spiky plants can take on many forms, appearing like short bushes or tall and spindly like trees. Legend has it that Mormon pioneers named the tree after the biblical figure, Joshua, seeing the limbs of the tree as arms outstretched in supplication, guiding the travelers westward. Church ruins and palm leaves … this little oasis reminds me of Cornwall but it’s actually right in the financial centre of London - the little sliver of skyscraper gives it all away in the background ☀️🌺 St. Dunstan in the East is the perfect respite from sweltering London days 🌴~ Kathryn Holeywell
“Tenderness, understanding, and passion are not usually linked together. But then, tenderness and understanding are so rare.”

no but in all seriousness, don’t force relationships and don’t force friendships. if these things aren’t flowing into your life naturally, you can do without them until they do.
I’ve made a list to keep myself sane this summer. Add whatever you have in the comments:
Limit screen time. Whenever you realize it’s been too long, immediately drop the phone and look up.
Respect nature, honour those who have protected it for you.
Get outside (and always leave it better than you found it).
Your summer body is the exact body you have in the summer. Love it by treating it well.
Balance your recklessness with carefulness.
Balance your indulgence with moderation.
Don’t compare your summer to anyone else’s. It’s your summer and you get to make it up as you go.

reminder: what’s yours will be yours. no need to rush. no need to feel anxious. all good things take time. and when it does come, your heart will be so grateful. give it time. rest your mind. and enjoy the present moments.
“There is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable.”
