i find it weird how certain artists refuse to draw body hair or anything nonconformist for their genderbent/girl monkee designs. the entire point of the show was that these were guys representative of a real counterculture present in america. they went against the grain of standard American expectations of living, especially in their gender presentation. they were constantly called girly and made fun of for having long hair and being sensitive. this extends to the beatles fandom as well. it just doesn't make sense to make them fit cissexual ideals. its pretty dismissive of that shift in cultural values at that time
