Andrea Lanning Shares Childhood Memories in New Book
Author and Illustrator, Andrea Lanning grew up in Southampton Parish and then Smith’s Parish, Bermuda. Now she taps into her childhood experiences in the first of a planned series of books that will highlight her childhood memories. The first colour picture book is entitled “The Imposturous Egg” and tells the story of the author as a little girl when she had mishap with a bluebird’s egg.
Andrea decided to draw from her many experiences growing up in Bermuda for her first series of books. “My childhood has been the best part of my life,” the author said. “I was very privileged to have grown up in Bermuda. Writing and drawing are things I have always enjoyed doing since childhood.”
The series entitled “A Big Girl Remembers” will capture the secrets, the adventures and most memorable moments of the author’s childhood experiences. The stories will finish with a “Notes from the Author” section where the author shares background information and facts. For instance, The Imposturous Egg, has a short fun facts section on Eastern bluebirds.
The Imposturous Egg , in hardback and softback, is available in British and American English. Andrea currently resides in London, United Kingdom where she attends university. She lives with her son and five hamsters and her daughter who also studies and lives in the United Kingdom visits often. Andrea graduated with an Associates Degree in Art and Design from the Bermuda College.
