I get heavily depressed over my situation because I, personally, know girls who have been saved. homes very similar to mine— abusive religious parents, unable to afford moving out, but everything looks okay from the outside. the three of us bonded over that because we were shocked other people were surviving what we each thought was our own unique personal hell.

they both met men. their men intervened physically in their homes and removed them from their situations. they got financial support from their boyfriends, were moved out of their homes and into safer places. one couple is married now, before they were even 25. And there weren't rich men— they still aren't. I'm friends with one boy and still see the other in passing. neither of them had money, but they loved someone enough to help. these girls were saved. they didn't do anything special to earn it; we were all students in the same courses and each lived locally. no major extracurriculars, only occasional part-time work during our summer breaks. the most normal lives we could live in our situations. and they were saved.

I'm about to turn 28. nobody is coming to save me. and I don't understand what's so wrong with me that I didn't get to be one.
