He didn't want to be left out. All his friends had kids. Kelsang was raising one. Kuruk likely had some. Hei-Ran was even raising her own kid.

And, I mean, Yun was close enough to grown. And they forgot he needed to catch up in the realm of actually being raised. :/

I think the worst part of the books is how Kyoshi is like “I can’t believe Yun would do this” because neither did he. He never even for a moment considered he would ever be in the position to do something like that. Because he went from having a family, friends, and a purpose, to absolutely nothing.

Kyoshi didn’t believe Yun could do such a thing, because until the moment it happened, Yun didn’t know he would either.

The moment when Kyoshi is confimed as avatar and Yun just crumbles and it BREAKS Kyoshi's heart. and then he becomes a vessel for his rage and an evil spirit and no one himself included saw that coming...
