hiding out in the shadows of the firelights hideout isnโt impossible, but it isnโt exactly easy either, or is it what she expected to be doing when he said for them to meet in private. jinx had assumed he meant a place in zaun, somewhere possibly crowded enough that no one would notice them, but leaning against the big tree made her feel exposed. she knows she isnโt entirely welcome there & not that she blames anyone for those feelings. she is one of the reasons many of them are dead.
nevertheless, as she looks around at the community built in the hideout, she feels a slight twist in her gut. a reminder that she can never truly belong with these people & that the streets of zaun will always be home. even hearing children laugh in this place makes her uncomfortable. these people are too good for someone like her.
hearing his question, however, causes her head to snap in his direction. no longer was she watching children run & play games, now, fuchsia eyes find their focus on him & only him. jinx exhaled heavily, shook her head, & then chuckled softly to herself. โ you really donโt know? โ she questioned back at him as her arms slowly folded across her chest while her gaze fell to the ground. looking at her boots, she considers what to tell him. he lives in zaun, the same as she does, but from his question, she feels as if he could live somewhere almost completely different & one look around the hideout can all but confirm that for her.
her eyebrows flatten against her pale forehead. โ sheโs been hanging out in piltover since she hooked up with that pilti girl. โ silent disgust hangs from her words as she clicks her tongue against her teeth. โ pft, my guess is we wonโt be seeing her around here again, & if we do, you can bet she wonโt be alone. her girlfriend is practically tied to her hip, or at least, thatโs what i assume. โ she swallows a lump from the back of her throat before kicking a nearby rock toward a puddle.
jinx watches the rock as it rolls near the puddle but never makes it in & takes it as a sign for her to leave the hideout, but her feet remain in place. her only movement is the turning of her head as she looks away from ekko & focuses back to where the children are playing.
