“definitely,” she laughed, “i remember being convinced that i could find a way to braid it when we were younger.” walli liked to think that she wasn’t just an annoying fourteen year olds following fabian around when they were in young justice together, even if she had been, she was sure fabian was too nice to say anything. “there was a hot second when i was nine that i thought it wouldn’t be totally unfair or cheating if i was an olympic runner.. i think i just wanted a medal.”

lysander was feeling good. his good days were getting closer together and lasting longer and he was feeling better than he had in a very long time. with this good feeling came a little bit more confidence. bouncing a little on light toes, the redhead moved through the florist and cafe, admiring the person in the line in front of him. with a burst of sureness, lysander reached forward to tap the other on the shoulder.

“i hate to bother you,” he began, “but this is a lovely colour on you.”

Walli smiled, “Oh, thanks! I wasn’t quite sure about it,” she said as the turnt to face the other. Today was one of the rare days she was able to get out of the hospital and go out for coffee.

“My dad?” Now that would be interesting, he thought. “I wouldn’t know how to feel about my dad calling me a nerd, but I shouldn’t put it past him or any of my siblings. Uncle Barry really is a funny guy.”

“I wouldn’t put it past him, personally. My dad likes to think he’s funny, we really shouldn’t fuel his ego, he’ll try stand up comedy or something if he let him think he’s actually funny.”

“That’s why i am thinking it was the speed demon of my twin sister.” He said to his older cousin. “I thought we had taken a break from our prank war because of the holidays but clearly she didn’t let me know we started again. You think Apollo and Fletcher would have written something else?”

“See, I’d like to give all of your siblings a little bit more credit than that, at least I’d hope they’d be more creative,” she smiled. “I mean, it could be your dad, thinking he’s funny. That wouldn’t surprise me at all, if I’m being completely honest. I probably could have gotten internet famous off of all of the bad pranks my dad tried to pull on us growing up.”

“What? Do I have something on me?” Jai said as he looked on himself for anything out of the ordinary. He reached his hand to his back and pulled off a sign that said Kick me, I’m a nerd that was clearly taped on his back. “I swear whoever put this on my back likes to believe they have a great sense of humor, but I have an idea on who did this.”

“Calling you a nerd isn’t exactly the most creative insult,” Walli laughed and gave her cousin a smile, “that could be said about literally anyone in our family..”

For once, Billy had free time. Between SHIELD and Young Avengers, Billy thought they were going to lose it. School was challenging as it was but it was slowly becoming too much for the young avenger. But now…. they were able to relax, outside in the cold with a book in their hands. “I get it, Harry Potter is like the lord of savior, but where is the credit to Regulus Black?” Definitely fanboying. “I get it, people like Severus Snape, but….he’s a gross and slimy snake. Regulus Black is the real Slytherin hero.” Pulling the book back down on his lap, Billy pursed their lips together in thought. “Not to mention, Regulus literally pulled a giant ‘fuck you’ to Voldemort and sacrificed himself to try and destroy a  horcrux.”

“Snape is still greasy and weird as fuck, all of the shit he did isn’t magically excused because he was in love with Harry’s mom, if anything it makes it even worse....” Walli sighed. It’d been so long since she’d been able to get into a real discussion about Harry Potter with anyone. “Regulus deserves more credit and you should say it.”

“Excellent idea, we can be each other. I think we’d get away with it.” Wally admits with a laugh, knowing that a lot of people out there would believe it. Their names were almost identical, might as well have fun with it. “I can hear him frustratingly just yelling WHOEVER YOU ARE COME HERE.” Wally shakes his head, loving the memory. He misses them a lot right now he realizes.

“You do look like a Topanga, it’s pretty fitting,” she teased with a smile. The idea that her parents just wanted to be able to call for all of the kids at once, wasn’t too far out of the realm of reality the more that Walli thought of it. “It got even worse after we watched the first Harry Potter and saw Fred and George switch places, honestly, I feel bad for Mom and Dad now, but when we were little, it was hilarious. It’s probably a good thing I don’t want kids, I feel like karma would come back to bite me big time”
