Thoughts on the apparent art change? Not sure if it’s a new artist or the same artist trying a new style. On Wikipedia for the original game, the site lists Rui Tomono and Fumiya Sumio as the artists. Not sure if they have changed for the sequel.

Regardless, the new game, “Death Bite: Shibito Magire/死噛シビトマギレ” looks interesting and I am excited for its release🤩

Hello, everyone! I have exciting news regarding “Shibito Magire”, the third entry into the Spirit Hunter series!

Screenshots have been released showcasing the new features that the game will tote.

As you can see, it appears that the developing studio has decided to step away from the visual novel format. We now have what looks to be a third-person POV, side-scrolling game (similar to Red Candle Games’ Detention), which suggests that players will be able to interact with the environment more actively!

Mr. Kujou has returned! The game allows you to pick a partner to adventure with, and the information you learn while investigating depends on who you have chosen to take with you. The bottom left corner shows a small catalog of people, who I assume will also be making their return in this new installment! Hopefully all our favorites will be there!

As per the last two games, Shibito Magire has the newly named “Suspensive Act System”. The system is yet another fast-paced choice list, where your decisions will ultimately effect the livelihood of the characters. The choices you are given will differentiate with the items in your inventory and your choice of partner, so be sure to choose wisely!

The story is to be set in H-City (the original setting of Death Mark) at the Konoehara Academy. The century-old academy has strange incidents occur every ten years, during which time a number of students die without logical explanation. Taking the reins as Mr. Kujou once again, you are hired to resolve the curse plaguing the students. Interestingly, another article suggested that Mr. Kujou will be toting a fake identity as a teacher at the academy in order to conduct his investigations.

As per my writing of this information (12/1), the crowdfund has reached a bit over half of its 15,000,000 JYP goal. Unfortunately, if you live outside of Japan, you cannot donate to this project. Forty-five days remain to donate; I will keep you all updated with the progress of the donation pool as it continues!
