* Something about that didn’t quite feel as reassuring as she was hoping. Maybe if she didn’t let that sentence linger too long though, Noelle couldn’t think about it and be upset by it.

* “Hey, you should– I mean… why don’t you share this with me? I COULD eat all of them, but… I don’t know… you worked hard on them, so you should get to have at least ONE. Probably.”

“ YEAH SURE OKAY “

she blurts out with such intensity , her nose brightening up to an intense level for just a second before calming down again .

“ i-i mean , sure ! i... sampled them myself while i was making them but , an extra wouldn’t hurt , right ?? “

her hand raises up towards the box but stops , a nervous glance shot back at the reptile before slowly picking up one of the chocolate goods . tossing it into her maw and chewing it up , she can’t help but look away again . as much as she wanted to look at her ... even with the move she’s pulling now like this , her anxiety is threatening to kill her right then and there .

“ ... i ... don’t think valentine’s day is T-THAT dumb of a holiday ? “

she confesses , still averting her gaze from the other . ( she just said something that went against susie’s thoughts , oh no . )

A laugh rings out from the Queen before giving a side shrug.

— “ Yep. Cyber World? It’s Gone Now Since The Fountain Is All Sealed Up. No More Castle For Me… At Least, My OWN Castle Lmao. ”

A sigh escapes her robotic self, shoulders drooping ever so slightly as she admits it out loud. However, that doesn’t last so long as the smile once again forms upon her face. After all Noelle is here, no need to be so down.

— “ Yeah, The Green One Said I Could Stay Here. I Even Get To Spend Time With My Son. It’s Pretty Neat, Actually. Small, But Everyone Is Here. My Subjects, That Is. Or Are They Still My Subjects? Idk Lmao, But I Am Still… Happy To See Them Safe. ”

— “ What About You, Noelle? Are You Happy? ”

“ ‘ gone ? ‘ “

it was just gone ?? none of the others had brought that up , but , it would make sense why almost everyone she had remembered seeing in there were all here . they needed a home , one that ralsei offered in spite of everything that they had done with  ... 

she spends so much time thinking on it that the sudden question queen has for snaps her out of it . happy ...

“ oh ! uhhhh , kinda yeah ! i-i talked with berdly a bit ... cleared up some things . and ... me and s-susie are friends now !! she’s ... a lot more nice than i thought . and ... “

she stops herself . remembering who she’s rambling to , she deflates a little .

“ y-yeah ... i am ... “

* Before Susie gets a chance to ask Noelle what her problem is, she’s shoving a box at her. A Valentine’s box, clearly. Susie feels her face flush a little, and she looks away. Maybe she was laying her uncaring act on a bit too thick?

* “Hey, uh…”

* Why did this always happen with the other girl? Susie was never the type to not know what to say, or to freeze up when interacting with people, but Noelle had an uncanny ability to make her do exactly that.

* Shaking her head, she takes the box of chocolates and gives the candies inside a quick glance. It’s obvious that Noelle has put a lot of effort into this. Susie’s face flushes even more, and she looks back at her.

* “This is… pretty nice…”

* “For… you know… some goofy holiday gift…”

for a time , all she can do is look away in pure anxiety , nose glowing faintly . there’s a slight turn back towards susie when she takes the box from her , one eye watching as she opened it . when susie’s own face begins to flush , she swears her heart stops in it’s rhythm right then and there . and then she realizes susie’s looking back at her . ( oh no . )

“ t-t-thanks !! i made them myself ... i’m , not the best baker but , i hope you like them ! “

did she see the note ? is that why she was getting blushy too ?? did she figure it out ??? oh gosh , the anxiety was eating her up . something in her head told her to run away as fast as she could but , she just stood there for now . the glowing of her nose was getting brighter .

*Behold! I present to you my organized feelings in word-form! (Berdly sinks into a dramatic bow, holding out a heart-shaped card that seems handmade. Inside were the bluebird’s heartfelt, albeit extremely corny, thanks, detailing how grateful he is to have her as a friend.)

when she sees & hears berdly approaching her , a warm smile is sent his way as she tried to greet him back - only to be interrupted when he continued . before she could fully process what he had said about the holiday of love ( oh right , valentine’s day ! she nearly forgot ... ) , berdly dips down into a bow presenting the card .

memories of a certain dream she had creeped up , but she tossed those worries away for now as she gently took the card from him and read to herself .

even if berdly was ... too berdly at times , the friendship they had was something she had valued ( even if she had to put a lot of the legwork into it ) , and it was nice to see that berdly held it in just as high ( if not higher ) regard . arms wrap around him as she pulls in for a hug .

“ it’s nice that ... you’re you , too , berdly . thank you ... “

if susie’s hearing was keen enough , she could hear that last “dumb” in a much different tone from her beginning laugh . disappointing , it sounds .

for a moment she just , stands there . looking away , eyes giving their own look of pondering . like she was debating with herself internally about something . her hand , slowly , reaches for something ; her backpack . more specifically , something inside of it . she’s still looking away when she opens her mouth to speak again .

“ s-s-susie ... um .............. t-... here ... “

and with the end of her ( really quiet ) sentence , it violently snaps towards the other girl , revealing a rather large looking heart shaped cardboard box colored in a bright pink . if one was to open this box , there would be quite the assortment of chocolate goods inside . and a small piece of paper sticking out from underneath one of them . one side of noelle hoped she wouldn’t find it , the other hoped for the other result .

hesitantly , she takes the stick of chalk and shutting her eyes , she bites down , one half crunching up in her mouth as the other remained in her grip .

the taste doesn’t really ... taste much ? after a few seconds of chewing she swallows down , looking up at susie with a somewhat surprised expression , before tossing the other half in and finishing that up .

“ . . . not bad , actually ! “

she giggles a little at the end , pretending not to notice the aftertaste that was now building up .
