i’ve decided to funk up my notes a bit this year in hopes that i’ll actually want to look over them and use them to revise!
here’s a little snapshot of my notes from today, all about diagnostic concepts and the onset of psychosis.
Hi! I used to colour code all of my notes. Like, *COLOUR CODE* to the point of there being 7 different colours on my pages, and I found it way too distracting and I couldn't focus on one thing because my eyes would just dance around the page. Now, my notes are all in the same colour pen and it feels like I just get lost in a sea of black ink. Any tips on how to make it nicer to read without going crazy on the colours??
hey!
i know the frustration of looking at a page and being overwhelmed with colours and think “oh crap, i need to know all of this”.
i now cater my colour coding to each specific lot of notes (no system works for all notes!) and it’s a lot less overwhelming. i would also recommend not highlighting massive chunks of text because there’s no point - it’s a waste of highlighter and time! instead, highlight the core words that will help you remember the whole section you’re trying to revise.
here’s some of my notes for an example:
16.04. Rewriting my Histology notes and already hanging behind in the second week of the semester 👍 But coffee, plants and the blue sky keep my heart happy 🌱
21.04.21 // 10/100 days of productivity
i’m finally getting into the swing of being productive!! today i woke up before 8am, made loads of notes, exercised, and payed attention to a lecture. (for most of it at least). now to keep it up for the rest of the week!!
Can someone please tell me why my school absolutely hates me.
So we started a new semester at school and I was supposed to do college classes so I had gotten my schedule early. Today I went to my homeroom and they gave me a completely different schedule. None of my college courses were on there so I started asking questions. Turns out they wanted me to do my courses during the afternoon but they didn't want to notify the college. I ended up with really confused emails from my professor asking where I was. I then explained that it wasn't my fault and it caused a lot of drama with my counselor and the head of the college.
Needless to say I've had a crazy fucking day.
awww i hope your week gets better :((

so this week has been a long year huh…. two weeks no classes over here (with no word yet on whether we’ll get an online component). adapting to working from home is gonna be weird one, but thankfully i have plenty of sunlight and a new found love for tea 🥺 i hope you all are staying safe and doing well!! things will get better. i promise.

// day 2 of my masters is done! I’ve had all my module introductions and have already had assignments set so I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little stressed :((
november 19th 2019 — a list: sleeping in, cleaning the flat, going to my psychiatrist appointment, cooking lunch, reading a archenemies, taking care of myself and drinking good coffee, reading, reading, reading, forever reading words, absorbing them, breathing them in and forever holding them in my heart. reading is truly magical and i wouldn’t trade it for the world.

another glimpse at my sanctuary aka video game dungeon aka home coffee shop 🍂 oh my, to return here after a long day at work or a library! this little cozy place always welcomes you with soft sun shining through the windows or with rain drumming lazily on the roof. it’s not perfect, but I’ve never been happier with where I get to spend my free time and study. i was thinking about showing my kitchen as well, but I am not sure if I should, do you think it’s a good idea? lol
8 hours of studying, 2 coffees, 2 sandwiches and so much biochemistry & immunology later, i can at least safely say today was productive (and binge a new netflix show). still can’t get over how pretty this library is.

So I want to start a bit of studyblr, since I'm going to school again tomorrow, and if anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate it :)

memories from paris and padova + a pic from a recent family trip to fusine lakes in italy 🌏
oslo’s new Deichmanske library is HEAVENLY. i’m a huge proponent of libraries as community hubs and this place truly brings that vision to life- diverse areas to sit, study, and socialize, a minitheatre, spaces to sew and knit and paint and craft, beautiful & intelligent design, and BOOKS!!! libraries are so undervalued as one of the few public spaces you can just be in for free and it was really awesome to see how many people were excitedly exploring it when I went (there was a line up out the door to enter, busiest place by far on a sunny saturday afternoon in oslo!!)
