Today (April 25th) it’s an Italian national holiday and I spent it with my friends having a picnic near the Lake of Lesina, in the southern Italy.

As a guy born and raised in the south of the country, I’ve always been happy to share these moments with my friends and their warm and jokingly company.

Perhaps, recently, since the loss of my boyfriend, I struggle to enjoy these moments as I did in the past. It’s like every sound is muffled, every joke is dull,… I feel the reality through a filter becoming thicker and thicker, heavier and heavier until I have to get away from the confusion and the merriment, to catch my breath again. Alone.

This picture is taken in one of these moments. My friends were drinking and joking and I felt like a I was more and more suffocating, until I had to get away, walk a bit and stay here with no one around.

Being alone, watching the waves coming over over and over again, made me not feeling better, but it helped me to breath again.

Could anyone relate to this feeling?

Travelling 🧳

In more than 13 years living in Rome, just 300 km from the town where I grew up, the feelings of each and every travel has changed by the time.

I can’t say that I’ve found my home in Rome, neither I can say that it’s still the one I grew up with my family.

So now, when I get back to San Severo, in the south of the country, I feel like I’m looking forward something I was well used to find and that I’m not able to find anymore.
