"When I was about your age, an old friend once told me something very important about all those wishes inside our minds. 'If they scare you, try to focus on your own inner voice.' It helped to keep the upper hand."

Selina blinked slowly at the words before shaking her head, her hands reaching up to her ears as if to stop the loud voices - it didn’t help though and she quickly dropped her hands before moving closer to Blue, hands reaching out for comfort, “But Blu’ they is loud and hurt.. I can’t find my own inside voice!”

“That’s my girl!” Dessa shared the proud smile with Selina when she recognized that it was a candle and picked the girl up on her lap. Wrapping her arms around the little fairy in a loving hug, the light talent showered her with kisses to the head before she looked back down to the wax sculpture. “You did great for a first try, little Spark. Next time we just need to keep the wick a little bit longer to make it shine really pretty.”

At her Mommy’s words her grin grew even more, her eyes lighting up at the praise and seeing the proud smile. As she was drawn into the hug she happily returned it, wrapping a small arm around the older fairy happily before bursting into happy giggles at the kisses. “You like it Mommy?” her eyes shined happily before nodding slowly, taking in the words, “I will make a prettier one next time Mommy, just like your pretty ones! Can we take this one to show Mama? Its little but we can make it shine right?” she tilted her head still carefully holding her little candle, it was her first one she did by herself and she was careful not to drop it.

“Right, it’s more fun to just follow along where your gut feeling is driving you to anyway.” August agreed,giving Selina a boyish look. Leaning against the railing he continued listening to the girl’s remarks and left out an amused chuckle. “That sounds pretty much like her. Most of her stories tend to be lessons, but you’ll get the meaning of the head hurting ones when the time comes.” He assured her.

Selina happily nodded at his words as she hopped down the stairs, with a gentle ease she grasped for his hand, gently tugging as she smiled happily, “Lets go explore!” she giggled at his words, nodding her head quickly once more, “Thats what Blu Blu says! She says lessons are important even if I don’t understand all of them yet  - they are all important and one day they will make sense.” she spoke the words carefully - clearly having heard it perhaps more than once already, but there wasn’t frustration as she spoke them, but purely understanding, she may not get them all now and they may make her head hurt. But she trusted Blue’s words were true. Gently her hand swung back and forth, still holding onto his own hand as she gave another smile.

“Do you know Blaze? Tinky says he used to be a little firefly but now he’s a fluffy puppy! And Gruffy he used to be different too - but Mama Fawn says I’m not allowed to tell people what he used to be cause it might scare people.. but Gruffy is nice, I don’t think he’s scary.” she chatters lightly, happy to talk to someone new and speak of things she knows.

“A different kind of magic than you are used to but magic nonetheless. And yes Pokemon come in all shapes and sizes; some are fairies, some are puppies, some are fish, I am pretty sure there is one that looks like an ice cream.”

“ohhh!” Selina’s blue eyes widened at Tink’s words, her eyes darting back to the little game, holding it closer to her face, “What kind of magic is it Tinky? Can we play with the little pok’emonys?” she was almost bouncing in excitement, “I wanna see them Tinky!” she held the little game back towards Tink, moving to almost sit on her lap, “Show me hows? Please! I wanna see a fairy one! and a puppy one - is the puppy like Blaze?”

Tinkerbell nodded and took her Nintendo 3DS fro her bag, turning it on. “A lot of the pokemon have different types, just like there are different fairies. There is even a fairy type.” She handed the console to the girl. “See? That’s me, cute aren’t I?”

Selina watched carefully, tilting her head as she gave close attention to the little thing, watching and listening, “Types? Like Big and small?” her nose scrunched up as she took the console, pulling it close to her face as she looked at the image before looking back at Tink confused, “Tinky! How did you get inside?!”

Tinkerbell laughed. “It’s not a sickness honey, I promise. Pokemon is a game where you befriend little animals and you travel the world with them, it is pretty fun.” She tapped Selina’s nose. “Would you like to see?”

Selina’s face scrunched up as she listened, a clear happy relief on her face as she heard that Tinkerbell wasn’t going to end up sick, before giving a tiny giggle at the tap on her nose before nodding her head and pulling herself up to sit beside her, “Yeah! I wanna see Tinky! I like games, and I like little animals too!”

Selina was nervous, it didn’t happen all that often but she had been told that today she was going to meet some other fairies. While the news had been exciting now that she was about to meet them, she found her tummy was feeling funny - like a million butterflies decided to play inside of her tummy. She knew it would be okay, her Mommies wouldn’t let her meet someone mean and she had been told the new fairies were friends - friends from back in Pixie Hollow. 

She had heard many, many stories from her Mommies and Tinky, so many fun stories - more of the funner ones were told by Tinky though. But she was still scared - what if they didn’t like her? Her bottom lip trembled slightly before she shook her head, her eyes darting over to where her Mama was waiting for her - she promised to be there just incase. But Selina was going to do her best to be brave - this was a fun day and She was going to meet some new friends!

“Mommy! Mommy!” The small girl came rushing over, something small - slightly oddly shaped held carefully in her hands as she stopped just inside the candle workshop. “Look what I did!” slowly she holds her hands up, a proud smile on her face, for right there - in her hands was a odd looking thing - but although the shape was strange it was clear as to what it was when she held it up, a small candle.

“Tinky? Whats a pokemons? Mama says you is ‘addic’ed’ to it. I don’t know what it means.. But I dont want you to be sick Tinky!”

Fascinated August had been watching the new addition from out his recovery bed while Selina was browsing through the storybook. A warm smile on his features as well as he kept an eye on the girl from behind the office curtains. They’d briefly met within the convent during mealtimes throughout the past couple of days and he happily accepted helping the girl to adjust.

He got up and followed outside, when August saw her getting up from the stairs. Still a bit stiff, but feeling well enough for a little adventure the brunette picked up the book as he heard the girl speaking and smiled back at her. “Sure, what are you planing to see first? Maybe I could give you a little story time along the way.”

The book was confusing, really - many things were confusing to her. There was so much she didn’t know, so much she didn’t understand and it was all rather overwhelming for the small girl. But she was safe and despite all of the confusing and questions she had, she was happy. It was rare to not see a smile on her small face. Her eyes alight with happiness and more than a dash of curiousity. But seeing a familiar face instantly gave her a happy little warmth in her chest she knew was happiness.

She knew who he was, she remembered him being called ‘August’ by some of the other fairies, although she hadn’t really spoken to him much yet - he was nice and she knew he was someone she could trust. At his question her little nose scrunched up before she shook her head, “I don’t know - thats why its exploring!” at the mention of stories her eyes lit up again, quickly her little head moved up and down, “I like stories - Blu tells me some - but most of the time its to teach me stuff, sometimes they are fun but sometimes they just make my head hurt.”

At first Dessa looked at their little foundling in confusion since there were no noise at all, but then understood. Their newest addition was probably hearing the rest of the town like their superior did some late evenings before the town fell asleep. “Come here, little spark.” The light fairy offered a hug. “You don’t have to be afraid.”

“Well I’m not sure about Gruff, but Mama Fawn will definitely come with us to be with us.” Dessa returned with a soft smile and helped Selina to dry the tears. The animal talent had told her how strong the bond between Selina and Gruff was when they decided to take her in together but was also aware that the rest of them still preferred to keep a respectful distance to his new form due to their cursed persona. “Maybe he’ll come with us to protect the complete area from out the forest side.” The light fairy continued speaking and took the small hand into her own. “When we arrive, I’ll make you some cocoa so we can comfortably snuggle up and listen to Fawns story about how they met. How does that sound like?”

“Oh.. But Gruff will be okays alone?” the little one was very close with both Gruff and Blaze and she loved to have them both around whenever she could, so the idea of either of them being alone made the child a little concerned. Her head gently lay upon her Mommy’s shoulder, cuddling a little closer she slowly smiled at the idea, Gruff would keep them safe even if he wasn’t with them! “Thats one of my favoritest stories!” she gave a small giggle, keeping her head close to Dessa’s shoulder, it helped to keep the other voices a little quieter, “No more loud voices Mommy?”

Tink rolled her eyes, she wasn’t particularly fond of the nickname Tinky but she did love Selina so she let the matter slide. She smiled. “Well Blaze is a good listener.”

She watched the two converse and nodded. “Yes I know how to make flower crowns, I will make one for all of us, perhaps even Fawn and Dessa if we find enough. “

Selina grinned back up at Tink, she adored the older fairy very much, of course her Mommies were her favorites but Tink was so much fun and she always would play with her, “Uh-huh! Blaze and Gruff are the bestest listeners! They listen super good.” she gently gave Blaze another pat before looking around, focusing back on the flower search.

“Can we find pretty flowers like Rosie makes?” she was almost bouncing at the idea of making flower crowns, already trying to work out how many they would need to make some for everyone, but Blaze needed one too.

Maybe staying the night at Fawns home near the shelter wasn’t such a good idea Dess thought as she gently rocked Selina in her arms. The girls ability to control her talent was not developed enough yet to expose her to the entire town by that hour. They still needed help and lessons how to keep the voices out of the little ones mind; she slowly realized why Blue preferred that the convent was more outside the crowd. “Do you want us to sleep at my place instead? It’s less noisy.”

On one hand Selina wasn’t sure why it was so loud, it wasn’t the first time she had been so close to the town, but it was the first time that it had suddenly been so overwhelming, and the little fairy was still a child in many ways. Her tears slowed as she took in the comfort, her own small arms wrapping tightly around the light Fairy, she felt safer and the sounds weren’t quite as loud when she was less scared. “A-all of us M-Mommy Dessa..?” she whispered and snuggled as close as she could into Dessa’s arms, she wanted the comfort and didn’t want to be alone. “M-Mama Fawn and Gruff too?”

Selina was trying her hardest to not start crying, she remembered being told about the voices but she hadn’t heard them so loud before or so many at once. The experience frightened the small fairy child, she had tried to cover her ears, like she did when other things were loud, but it didn’t stop the sounds she heard at all. So she gave into her fears and the need for comfort and sort out the light fairy, instantly she found her tears falling as she hurried over, crawling onto Dessa’s lap and into her arms, her small head dropping onto her shoulder, “Its so loud... so many sounds, they won’t stop.” her voice wavered as she spoke, and her fear was clear. It was one thing to know what it was, and another to experience the overwhelmingness of it all.

Tink smiled and walked along with Selina, this kind of enthusiasm was rare and exiciting and it made Tink happy being a part of it. “Well I do like fun.” She watched as Selina ran after Blaze, goodness it was the cutest thing, it made Tink wonder if it was possible that she could have kids one day.

Blaze barked and nodded at Selina, he liked the idea of getting Tink gifts. Also treats, he loved treats.

Tink eyed them curiously. “What are you two talking about over there?”

Selina was excited that now she was going to have some fun, her small mind was working on excitement at the ideas she had and now she had Tink and Blaze along too it would be even more fun! The small fairy child giggled and gave Blaze another happy pat before looking up, her bright blue eyes wide with a hint of mischief, “Nothing important Tinky! Just telling Blaze somethin’ importants - right Blaze?”

She giggled and looked at the small dog with a wide smile, knowing he’d keep it a surprise, it wasn’t a lie - she was telling him important things, besides lies were bad and she knew they weren’t to be told. “We need lots of flowers and then we can go do the rest of things, Tinky? Do you know how to make pretty crowns with flowers?”

Tink laughed and leaned down. “It’s because they are grown ups. Luckily, I have less to do than most so yes, Blaze and I would love to play with you.” Tink listened to what she wanted to do and nodded, of course they had to find other flowers, getting them from Rosetta would be too easy.

Blaze could totally find flowers! Gruff taught the little dog where all the best flowers were located. He barked and got down out of Selina’s arms and started to run in the direction the flowers were located.

Tinkerbell smiled and held out her hand to Selina, she wasn’t about to lose the little girl. “Come, let’s follow.”

Instantly Selina bursts into giggles at Tink’s words, nodding her head quickly in agreement, “Goodie! We got lots to do Tink, I have lots of things we gotta do today, and its all super-duper fun!” a wide smile appears on her face before giggling and hurrying after the small dog, her hand clutching tight to Tink’s as she pulls the older fairy along with her.

“Blaze knows where flowers are, I bet he knows the bestest ones too!” Selina lets go of Tink’s hand and easily catches up to the little dog, as she reaches him she bends bends down to him, “I got surprises for Tink, but its a secret Kay Blaze? I promise I got some special treats for you too cause you’re my bestest friend!”
