Sachiko knew he wasnât trying to be rude, if anything, he was probably extremely worried about her. She bit her lip slightly, she didnât mean to make him concerned. Briefly, she wondered how she would thank him after this was all over.
Glancing up at Todoroki, her head tilted ever so slightly as he began to speak. Cauterize her wounds..? Oh, right, his quirk. The other half of it. Yes, it would hurt, but if it meant saving her life, really, what choice did they have?
âItâsâŚfineâŚ.DâŚdo itâŚPleaseâŚâ She braced herself, ready for the flames.
âAlright.â Opening his bag, Shouto pulled a few things out. First, a handkerchief. After folding it up a few times, he looked to the girl on the ground. âOpen your mouth.â Once she followed his command, he placed the thick cloth atop her tongue. While he closed the wound, Konosuke was going to scream. Measures needed to be taken so she didnât bite tongue.
Next was a ruler. Luckily Shouto used the metal kind and not wooden, or else this wouldnât work. Holding his left hand, he created flames to heat the cheap metal. He remembered everything Recovery Girl told him. After asking her to teach him how to cauterize a wound, she was reluctant, but in the end she showed him the proper way to do the treatment. Only under the condition he use it as a last resort.
With the ruler glowing a dull red, he looked to Konosuke. âHere goes.â
He pressed it against a wound.

She heard a familiar voice cry out. Her eyes that were beginning to close, opened up once more find the source.
ââŚTâŚToâŚdo..rokiâŚ?â She managed to say, wincing a bit as he applied pressure against one of her many wounds. How did he find her? Were those villains that attacked her gone for good?
The pain she was in was unbearable. Everything hurt. In a way, it reminded her of her past, of the pain she had dealt with as a child. She never expected to ever feel that same pain again.
A quiet sigh escaped her lips as she glanced up at the other student. âIâŚ.IâmâŚsorryâŚ.f-forâŚ.thisâŚ.â
âStop talking.â The boy commanded. His voice was blunt, but it wasnât rude. Konosuke needed to save energy. Heâd ask what had happened, but that would require the girl to speak.Â
This was bad. She was bleeding out quickly. By the time the ambulance would get there, she could be far too gone. Ripping his sleeves, Shouto began to tie up a few of the cuts. Despite this, there was only so much fabric he had. Could he move her? No, that wouldnât do any good. He couldnât get to the hospital carrying her in time.
Clicking his tongue, an idea came to his head. Looking to his left hand, then balling it up, he was ready for a last resort. Just long enough for the professionals to get there. âKonosuke-â He began. âI can cauterize the wounds, but it will hurt.â Pause.
âA lot.â
@blxxdyquirk continued from here
He wasnât sure how he came upon the scene, but time stopped as he watched the girlâs figure fall to the dirt. Eyes wided, and Shouto ran over. âHey!â He shouted. If she was conscious, sheâd know help was on the way. Skidding to his knees, he examined her injuries.
âKonosuke-!!â A fellow UA student. From what he gathered, she was attacked. Being students of the best hero school was like walking with a target on your back. Still, to be a victim of something this violent. There was blood pooling on the ground. Pressing a hand against one of the wounds, it wasnât much help. However in his other hand, he dialed an ambulance.
Once he hung up, more pressured was applied. There were way too many gashes, though, and he only had two hands. âHang in there. The paramedics are on the way.â

âYouâre welcome!â Leia beamed before glancing at the clock as she didnât realize it was already lunchtime. The day was just flying by it seemed. âIâd love too! Do you have a certain spot you like to eat?â
âNot particularly.â He thought a moment. âI mostly sit with Midoriya and Iida, though.â To him, where he sat wasnât much of an issue. Rather the people he was around. Sitting with friends made the noisy lunchroom a bit more bearable too.
âMidoriya finally got him, huh?â

Eyes followed him cautiously, lips pursed for a moment as he started walking away. Fingers twitched next to her side. He was leaving? Just like that? âAhâŚâ The small voice gasped before seeing him sit down. Terror quickly released itâs grip on her throat, and her hand fell back to her side. He was staying then⌠She stared after the boy for a moment longer. Slowly she took a few steps closer to the couch turning her gaze from him to the empty spot on the couch near him.
Shouto opened a book he was carrying, beginning to read once he sat down. The sound of small steps caught his attention, and he looked up to see the young albino standing before him. It seemed her eyes were fixed on the spot next to him. âYouâre free to sit, if youâd like.â He spoke up, looking back down to continue reading.Â
blxxdyquirkâ:
The expression of understanding the other had was surprising to Sachiko, to put it simply. But in some other way, it didnât. She was well aware of the other student being known for having been cold, callous and off putting to everyone else around him. And of course there must have been a reason for that front.
And just now, Sachiko caught the slightest glimpse of it.
A small smile graced her features. âI suppose we have that in common then.â
Noting the smile, Shouto felt a lightness in his stomach. He wasnât sure why. Maybe it was in a few words, some grounds of understanding were built. Regardless, he simply replied with a nod, looking away.
âWeâre still training.â He commented. âWouldnât be good if the teachers caught us standing around.â
sappinesâ:
âEr, you want to know what the general departmentâs likeâŚ?â Her voice trails on a nervous tone, but for a very different reason. Itâs no secret that the majority of her department despises the hero course, but that isnât a decent topic of conversation. âUm, itâs⌠unsurprisingly pretty normal. We donât have any training sessions or special classes⌠itâs just sort of regular school stuff. Not all that interesting.â
âI see.â His reply was a simple understanding. Shouto never really payed attention to his surroundings in middle school. He did his work, but that was about it. Never socializing with his classmates. âYou call it ânormalâ as if that was a bad thing, though.â
amplifyingtraceâ:
âOh goodâŚâ Leia sighed in relief, glad she didnât make him uncomfortable. She just got really excited. âWelcome!â She beamed as she finally put her notebook away.
âHmm? Oh! Thank you, I like yours too.â She just realized his hair was also two-toned, what were the chances?
âThank you.â He looked around, eyes landing on a clock. âOh. Itâs lunch.â He looked to the girl. âWould you like to sit together?â The boy offered. Despite some awkward pauses, he was enjoying the conversation.
//hi i havent been here in a while but im in a bleh mood so time for cold shoulder shoto
blxxdyquirkâ:
ââŚItâs more special than you would think.â She suddenly said, glancing back at him.
âItâs basic human decency yesâŚBut itâs still not something as common as one would likeâŚThatâs why we have villains in this world, right? AndâŚnot even villains sometimesâŚThe ones that hurt you the most are the ones you were closest to, or bound by blood to.â
That last bit caught Shoutoâs attention. While surprise was clear on his face, there was also understanding. After being quiet for a moment, he looked away, his burn scar visible. âYeah. I understand that.â
sappinesâ:
âM-me? Oh, right!â Heâs so calm and collected, if not somewhat blase, about this scenario. Itâs what helps her realize that it would be best to calm down, no matter the difficulty of that task. She takes a breath, relaxing the nerves plaguing her. âIâm Hayashi Kazue. Itâs a pleasure to officially met you, Todoroki-san!â
âNice to meet you.â Shouto replied with a nod. Looking at her uniform, he saw she was in general studies. âIâm curious. What is general studies like?â While classes couldnât be as crazy, it still must be odd.
blxxdyquirkâ:
She laughed bitterly, knowing that his words rang true. And it did make her happy in a sense that he seemed to care enough, despite not even knowing her all that well. âYouâre not wrongâŚAnd I suppose I should make an effortâŚâ She turned away. ââŚItâsâŚgood to know that someone cares enough to tell me though, thank you.â
Had he hit a nerve? As a bitter laugh came from the girl, he could tell there was something bothering her. Glancing away, he looked upward. âItâs nothing special.â Shouto spoke up. âIsnât it basic human decency to worry about others? Especially at a famous hero school.â
blxxdyquirkâ:
âI guess itâs because I canât help but wonderâŚIf they wronged me for something I did.â
âAndâŚIâd rather be the one suffering than let anyone suffer.â
Narrow eyes widened, but only slightly. Despite not knowing this girl well, he didnât like anyone thinking like that. âThatâs a pretty bad habit.â He commented, placing his hands in his pockets. âYou should get out of that mindset.â
