True Love
@staff how do i pin a post to the top of my tumblr?
Insanely accurate
I hope every single LGBT person that reads this has a really good day and remembers
âąYour existence is not a sin
âąYou are not an abomination
âąYou deserve equal treatment and the same rights as everyone else has, unquestioned
âąYou look really nice today (yes, even YOU)
âąPlease donât hurt yourself today
the purity of gay love extends to sex. there is nothing dirty or unnatural about same gender sexual relationships. gay sex can be healthy, loving, fulfilling, and in line with what God wants us to experience from sex.Â
there is nothing wrong with craving sexual intimacy. no, not even if youâre gay or lesbian or bi or pan. sex is a part of Godâs design for relationships (with the exception of asexual people, who can also have fulfilling romantic relationships without sex) and you should not feel guilty for wanting that with your partner.Â
âIf gay people getting married has you crying out to God in sorrow but the routine suicide of gay and transgender youth barely elicits a shrug, you desperately need to rethink your theology.â

Sometimes you need to thank God for what didnât happen. Thank Him for the things Heâs stopped that you knew nothing about.

JONGENS in less than two minutesÂ
Hi, please pray for my family. For good health.
Father in Heaven, thank You for breathing life into our lungs, for every day that we realize how important our health is, for providing us with so many resources to help us improve our deficiencies, our disabilities, and all other weaknesses. God we praise You and lift Your Son Jesus, taking in the healing that comes from Your peace and joy. Lord when we lift Your name higher, we are also lifted up. It is well with our souls. So we praise You and glorify You, not because we want to feel better but because it feels right and it feels good to be one with You in spirit. It is Your will and so Lord we empowered with Your will. God, I lift up those who are suffering from all kinds of pains and symptoms, physically, mentally, I lift their suffering to You. I ask that You let their weaknesses become weaker and weaker as You work in their lives a an energy and strength that can only be found in You. Remind them however You will it that health is such an important aspect of spirituality in this walk with You. Father use this person you have convicted to become a better example of what healthy looks like to their family. Do whatever it takes to bring them to Your obedience so they know how they can discipline themselves in this area of life. God I know that You truly want what is best for us and You work them out in those who seek to please You. However You are going to be working in this person, bless them with the love and concern they have for their family. Bless this family with abundant faith, strength, and energy, so they are convicted to live healthy lives for You. In Jesusâ name, I pray amen.

Collection of scriptures useful for queer people to understand
Over the past year I have shared some thoughts on scriptures related to homosexuality or queer people. I plan to add to this, but here is a collection of the posts Iâve made so far.Â
Itâs important to understand these verses because many people use scriptures to justify their bigotry, but much of what they think they know about what the scriptures say just isnât there, or is a mischaracterization. Their prejudice is not what God says about you.Â
Genesis 1 & 2 â Adam & Eve, not Adam & Steve : The purpose of these verses is not to discount homosexuality or being transgender
Genesis 19:1-11 â Sodom & Gomorrah :Â Itâs ironic that this story is used to justify treating LGBTQ+ individuals inhospitably. Homosexuality had nothing to do with this story and such an interpretation was not added until over a thousand years later.
Leviticus 18, 20 â Lie with a man as with a woman : These verses forbid Jews from engaging in male-male sex done as part of pagan worship.Â
Deuteronomy 23:17 â whores and sodomites : These verses are about prohibiting prostitution
Ruth & Naomi :Â 2 women who made vows, lived together for life, loved each other deeply, adopted each otherâs extended families as their own, and relied on each other for sustenance. And the Bible celebrates their relationship.Â
Jonathan & David : The text suggests this is more than two men who became friends. The possibility this is a same-sex relationship blessed by God is why the story of Jonathan and David has been a favorite of queer Christians.Â
1 Kings 14:24 â sodomites in the land; 1 Kings 15:12 he took away the sodomites; 1 Kings 22:46 the remnant of the sodomites; 2 Kings 23:7 brake down the houses of the sodomites :Â Every time the Old Testament condemns homosexual acts, it is because theyâre part of worshiping a different god. Worship of any other god is what is forbidden, itâs one of the 10 commandments.
Esther :Â While they donât fit our modern definitions of LGBTQIA, eunuchs were definitively considered âotherâ in their time and offer us a chance to discuss otherness and non-gender conforming people in the Bible. Theyâre the unsung heroes of this story.Â
Isaiah 3:9 - declare their sin as Sodom : Isaiah calls out the people of Judah and Jerusalem for not taking care of the poor or visitors. For having no guilt about the sins they commit. Not for being gay.
Isaiah 56:3-7Â : Eunuchs welcomed by God: Godâs way is radical inclusiveness, God doesnât marginalize people.Â
Daniel : In my opinion, the best example in the Old Testament to suggest God supports same-gender loving relationships.Â
Socially queer Jesus & disciples :Â Queerness fits naturally with the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
Matthew 8:5-13 â The centurion and his âservantâ :Â Jesus restores a gay relationship by a miracle of healing and then holds up a gay man as an example of faith for all to follow.Â
Matthew 19:5-12 â Marriage & Eunuchs :Â Jesus is discussing marriage and he mentions eunuchs (which, in context, seems clear heâs speaking of men who donât have a desire or attraction for women) being an exemption from male-female marriage.Â
Acts 8:25-40 An apostle baptizes a eunuch into the church :Â I see the eunuchâs journey mirrored in the unfolding path of modern-day LGBTQ+ people. as step-by-step weâre on the way to being accepted in the Church.Â
Romans 1:26-27 :Â Like most every verse on same-sex activity in the Bible, this one is about behaviors in relation to idol worship, which is forbidden in the Ten Commandments. Possibly itâs about lust and one-time encounters, perhaps even straight people engaging in sexual behaviors that canât result in pregnancy. It isnât about loving committed relationships between people who have a same-sex orientation.
I Corinthians 6:9-10 :Â Paul is speaking against prostitutes or random hook-ups, where sex is being pursued for sex, not love or as part of a relationship. No one believes he is condemning sex between heterosexual married individuals. We likewise shouldnât assume heâs forbidding relationships between people of the same gender. Â
1 Corinthians 7 : If youâre ace/aro, great! God has work for you. However, if you donât have the âgift of celibacy,â then channel your sexual desires within marriage. Paul is adamant that celibacy should NOT be forced on people. To do so endangers their spiritual well being! Is there a better argument than Paulâs for why Christians should accept and celebrate same-sex marriage?Â
Galatians 3:28 : The human distinctions of race, social rank, and sex are in some sense nullified in Christ. This scripture says the gender binary disappears in Christ.Â
1 Timothy 1:8-10 :Â While many Christians like to point to this passage in 1 Timothy as an example of the Bible condemning homosexuality, it actually is referring to boy prostitutes, the male customers who used them, and the slave dealers who procured them and sold them into prostitution.Â
Doctrine and Covenants 49:15-17 : The purpose of these verses is to say that marriage is good and rejecting a requirement of life-long celibacy.Â
Anybody have any verses/passages that they like to consult when facing a great deal of anxiety? You know, passages that bring comfort or peace in those moments where you are full of fear?
âWhen you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, Your Saviour.â  (Isaiah 43:2)
âBehold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish. You shall seek those who contend with you, but you shall not find them; those who war against you shall be as nothing at all. For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, âFear not, I am the one who helps you.â (Isaiah 41:11-13)
âBe strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.â (Deuteronomy 31:6)
âOut of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?â (Psalm 118:6-7)
âIf our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and He knows everything.â (1 John 3:20)
âThere is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.â (Romans 8:1-2)
âFor you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, âAbba! Father!â (Romans 8:15)
âLikewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And He who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.â (Romans 8:26-28)
âFor I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.â (Romans 8:38-39)
(really just ⊠all of Romans chapter 8)
âCome to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.â (Matthew 11:28-30)
âYou number my wanderings; You put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?â (Psalm 56:8)
âBut Zion said, âThe Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.â Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you.â (Isaiah 49:14-15)
âThen I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away⊠I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, âLook! Godâs dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.ââ (Revelation 21:1-4)
finally, Psalm 118 and 103 in their entirety are very good to pray through. I also find great comfort in Psalm 22; it is the one Jesus referenced on the Cross. reading through that whole Psalm with Christ in mind is really beautiful.
I hope this helps and I pray that God may comfort you in the midst of the storm. đ
Thank you so so much for taking the time to point out all of these. Bless you. <3
