Went for a botany drive since walking around is inadvisable right now. I’ve been down to the key peninsula area before but mostly just for work. I was in search of Hosackia crassifolia, which had been collected in the area, in 1950. Instead I found tons and tons of Oregon ash (Fraxinus latifolia). I think some of them might be part of an ash wetland which is a rather rare ecosystem type and often found near oak savanna’s (I did find a couple of Oregon oak, but not near these).

More exploration will be needed when the air is less toxic, there could be some rare plants or lichens inside these wetlands
