They were rather cute, Sans had to admit that. Kind and sweet, it seemed. He liked them. Yes, Sans could see himself enjoying their company.

At least, that.

“oh, did i forget to say? sorry, frisk - ‘m sans. sans the skeleton, o’course.” He paused a moment. “say, i know you’re not really s’posed to be too far, or i assume so. but whaddaya say to gettin’ somethin’ t’eat with me?”

Honey seemed to be thinking, before they finally nodded with a little smile. They were sure they could go together with Sans! He was nice and they were sure Toriel would be alright with them leaving, as long as they were with someone else that was looking after them!

They just needed to make sure not to stay away for too long, not that Toriel would look for them and become concerned...

Sans chuckled a bit at the response. Indeed they had wandered off - further from the door than per usual, and Sans found it rather amusing. It was odd he hadn’t seen them before, but he wasn’t complaining - humans set him on edge, to a degree.

only a bit, kiddo. i wouldn’t worry much - besides, if you’re with me, you’ll be fine.” It occurred to him he still didn’t have their name, so he repeated his question easily. “what’s your name, kid? so i don’t have to keep callin’ ya ‘kid’.”

‘I’m Frisk!’ the child signed, a warm smile on their lips. They were glad they hadn’t wandered off too far, otherwise they would’ve been lost and would have worried Toriel! They were glad that Sans was so nice to them.

‘Who are you?’ they then signed, believing to not having asked before. Maybe they just had forgotten though, but they were pretty sure they hadn’t!

Sans was a bit surprised to learn the name of the lady, but also partially glad. He gave a smile to the young human, nodding along with the information given.

“sweet. she must be nice, huh?” he replied easily. “say, what’s your name, kiddo? are ya even s’posed to be out here?” He’d figured the lady - Tori - would have kept a closer eye on a human around here.

Honey nodded to his first question, smiling brightly. Toriel was incredibly nice and was an amazing mother! They really liked her.

‘I can play in front of the doors. Have I wandered off?’ they didn’t know if they had wandered far away from the door, everywhere was snow and trees after all. They hadn’t come in any dangers either, close to the ruins normally weren’t any monsters.

They carefully waved, kind of facing their company. Eyes closed, hands close to themselves, they didn’t know if they could try signing or not.

Again, an awkward silence started filling the atmosphere. They could notice the kid’s struggles to see them; to find them. It was clear since one of their best friends was lacking vision in one eye. So, in order to send an indirect message to the kid, they spoke, awkwardly.

*Mmn…*

They entwined their tiny pale fingers, trying to gather strength from within.

Honey smiled softly, able to face Chara a little better now. Chara was a nice name! It reminded them of something, but they couldn’t remember. ‘I’m Honey’ they signed, hoping that Chara understood. They were used to people not understanding, but they never had a solution on what to do in such situations.

And yet another Frisk… they were certainly smaller, and their clothes were a bit known to them; however, they didn’t pay much attention to this. Their main doubt was… was this Frisk one of those Pacifist Frisks? Or another killer they’d have to run away from…?

Draped in a white robe, the kid looked almost like an angel, if Sans had to use a human comparison. It was odd, but the human was only barely out of the Ruins, too. It seemed like a good sign.

He watched them sign and nodded, understanding well enough.

“you’re from the ruins, huh? is that your home, then?” It was curious - most humans come out rather than staying.

Honey nodded happily, smiling brightly. They were glad that Sans understood them! Otherwise they would have a problem with communication, at least from Honey’s side.

‘Toriel is my mom!’ they signed, glad that Sans was so nice as well. He sounded nice at least! And he didn’t attack them either, which was great! They always had such troubles with fights...

With his phone in hand, Sans was typing away, talking with Alphys happily. He wasn’t paying attention to the area, as perhaps he should have been.

Feeling a slight disturbance, he glanced up - oh! A human was here. Peering around, thankful his brother wasn’t making his rounds for another hours, he gave a slight grin to the human.

“well, hello. when did you get here, kiddo?”

The little child had their white hood of their robe over their head, protecting them from snow that may fall down upon them. They had happily played in the snow, like they usually did when they left the ruins, when they heard the voice of someone. It reminded them of someone, wasn’t this the person Toriel liked to talk to through the door?

They turned around, eyes closed and hands held close to their chest. They weren’t too far away from their home, right? They waved hesitantly, unsure if they should sign or not. Well, they should try at least, right? With a little shaky hands, they signed. ‘I’m not often outside’
